Before the Corona, I used to take my camera everywhere I went, and even went to the neighborhood park a couple of days a week to take pictures, but I can't do that anymore, and I've become a little distant from my camera.

It is not that I have lost my enthusiasm for cameras, but I feel that my interest has shifted from cameras as gadgets to photography and video.

When I used to enjoy bicycles, there was a time when I was concerned about the performance of frames and parts, and one day I said to myself, 'With my leg strength, it doesn't matter what the performance of the parts is. I had to do something about my legs,' and I lost interest in the performance of the bike itself.

もうひとつは、コロナの流行に伴って、自分自身が少しカメラ離れしてしまった、と言うのがあります。コロナ以前は、どこに行くにも必ずカメラを持って出かけたし、週に2、3日は近所の公園に写真を撮りに行ったりしていたのですが、それも思ったようにできなくなり、ちょっとカメラと距離ができてしまいました。

決してカメラ熱が冷めたわけではないのですが、自分の興味が、ガジェットとしてのカメラから、写真や映像にシフトしてきているなあと感じるようになりました。

昔、自転車が趣味だった頃、フレームやパーツの性能を気にする時期があり、ある日『俺の脚力ではパーツの性能とか関係ない。脚をなんとかしないと』という事に気づいて、自転車自体の性能に対する興味が薄れたのと似ています。

そんなわけで、漫画の主題を『カメラ』から『写真』に寄せたものにできないかと考えたりしています。でも写真についての漫画が描けるほど写真が上手くないのが悲しいところです（笑）。
