Origin of 'A Better Master'
Added 2025-03-01 01:33:41 +0000 UTCA number of people have come up with theories on how Taylor's power works in my story 'A Better Master', so I wanted to share this to explain one of the ideas that prompted that story.

The core idea is that Queen Administrator is connecting with other shards directly, thereby removing some of the distance requirements. With that connection, Queen Administrator is 'upgrading' their powers. All good things, she gives her promise on that.
Canon Taylor has shown that Queen Administrator essentially gives her unlimited processing power, so Queen Administrator is using that processing power to craft full personalities, including a Master effect with the desire to care for Taylor, as part of the upgrade package.
I originally thought of extending it to all types of 'Masters', so the victims of Heartbreaker or Nihlbog or Bastard Son, but I couldn't really get it to work. There are just too many ways to be a Master, so I kept it to projections, as they are 'empty'/blank slates that can be easily filled.
Additionally, this means that any personality crafted by Queen Administrator will have a tendency towards Conflict, same as the Shards themselves. They can resist it if they want to of course, but it'll be their first solution.
I'll tweak it here and there, but that was the basic idea behind her power. What to you guys think?
