Author’s Note: September (2023)

Hey everybody.

I have several things to share this month. First, Effecting Fate. Never before have I experienced this level of writers block… And it’s so frustrating! I can write several pages of something completely random at the drop of a hat, yet when it comes to something I really want to write? I find myself struggling with a single paragraph. And I do really want to continue this story! The pairing of Shirou/Arturia is one of my favorite, and my previous chapters for Effecting Fate were very well received. While there are several reasons it’s been a while since I’ve posted a chapter there, writers block is the main culprit. And I hate that. Despite that, I think I’ve managed to brute force my way to something readable. Just give me one more week - October 7th - and it’ll be ready for me to post it.

With more success, I wrote an accompanying piece to Effecting Fate, titled “Was I Succesful”. This is mostly Shirou’s thoughts on whether he considered his first life successful. I wrote it because I disliked how so many fanfictions portray Shirou as depressed and jaded, where he regrets his life. So I wanted to show another option I guess. This piece will go into Effecting Fate at some point, but I haven’t decided where. Let me know what you guys think. Am I portraying Shirou badly?

“Hebe’s Intervention” is for A Heroes Blessing. A scene maybe three chapters in the future? Right after they leave Hephaestus’ scrap yard. Hebe feels the urge to fulfill an oath that she fulfilled years prior. To escort Hercules to Olympus after his death. Since Herakles is a Heroic Spirit, he qualifies as dead, and he was never escorted to Olympus. So Hebe is trying to understand why she’s feeling this way.

Next is a small accompaniment for My Miraculous Academia. I’m providing a small list of potential champions and their powers. If anybody wants to give ideas or thoughts, I’d be happy to hear them.

Alright, those are the chapters I’m posting. Additionally, I’m planning on creating more tiers for those who would like to donate more money. It’s not required - when I first decided to create a Patreon channel, I thought I’d start with just one tier, just to start out with. Now, with eleven patrons (for which I’m super grateful to you guys!) I’m thinking about expanding. If I do, do you guys think these other tiers should give various other benefits? If so, what benefits would you like to see?
