OVERLORD- CH-80. Aya's acting skills

"I..." Aya's reaction left Operan at a loss for words, rendering her speechless for a moment.

"Can you get up off me first?" Aya bit her lower lip and whispered.

Operan was stunned for a moment before realizing that she was still pressing down on the other person's body. She quickly stood up.

Aya sat up, backing away little by little until she finally shrank into the corner of the sofa. She pulled the small blanket from the sofa, covering her body as she curled up, staring silently at Operan.

Her resentful gaze made her appear aggrieved, like a young wife who had been bullied.

"Do you remember what you did?" Aya asked faintly.

"I... don't remember anything." Operan responded timidly. She had no idea what she had done wrong.

"You don't remember anything? That makes it easy."

"At noon, after you had a few drinks, you started forcing me to drink." Aya whispered, "My alcohol tolerance isn't good to begin with. I got drunk after just a few drinks."

Is this true? Operan had no recollection of this happening. Could it be that she went crazy when she was drunk?

"I was drunk, and then you suddenly started taking off my clothes." Aya said, wiping her tears, "Then, I fell asleep and woke up like this. If it wasn't you, who else could it be?"

"Wait a minute, my mind is a little foggy." Aya's accusations disrupted Operan's thoughts. She now seriously doubted whether she was still dreaming.

She reached out and pinched her thigh hard, grimacing in pain. A bruise was already forming, but she still didn't wake up.

'I'm not dreaming.'

"What do you have to say now?" Aya pressed on, intent on muddling the waters further.

"This..." Operan had no idea what to say. After a long pause, she finally remembered something important.

"Let me ask you first—who are you?" Operan swallowed hard, "You're not Levi, are you?"

The woman across from her remained silent, then slowly nodded.

"It's me."

Although she had a premonition, hearing it confirmed made her head buzz.

"You're lying to me, right? What happened? Where did Levi go?"

Levi is the woman in front of her. That seems like the most reasonable explanation. Otherwise, too many things wouldn't make sense. But still, Operan couldn't believe it.

This woman, who looked so much like Levi, was his sister. Was he conspiring with Levi to play a trick on her?

She considered the possibility, but the other party showed no signs of deception.

Aya turned her head away and spoke softly, "You don't believe me?"

The thin blanket draped over Aya's body, accentuating her curves. She lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes curled like delicate bird wings.

She was so beautiful that it momentarily robbed Operan of thought. The rapid heartbeat she felt was identical to the one Levi evoked—perhaps even stronger.

Similar facial features, same hair color, and temperament. Even if it couldn't be rationally accepted, something inside her had already equated Aya with the young man she knew.

How could this be? In Operan's vision, it seemed as if clusters of brilliant flowers were blooming around Aya.

This was because Aya was silently activating skills like [Charm Halo].

Reaching a certain level of charm could lower an opponent's intelligence. This was an urban legend in YGGDRAIL—one that Aya now chose to believe.

"You really are Levi."

"Yeah." Aya nodded silently, her voice suddenly low, "I'm sorry. I lied to you."

"What?"

"As you can see, I am not human." Aya gave a sad smile, "I used magic to hide my race because I wanted to be your friend."

That forced smile made Operan feel an inexplicable guilt. She opened her mouth but couldn't say anything.

"I don't blame you." Aya lowered her gaze and continued, "I am part succubus, so I may have bewitched you unintentionally. You're just human—you couldn't resist. It's not your fault."

"I don't blame you."

The moment Operan heard those words, she subconsciously relaxed a little—but in truth, she had fallen into a trap.

Accepting the other party's forgiveness implied admitting guilt. A simple yet effective trick that blurred the lines between right and wrong.

Moreover, though Operan's clothes were a little disheveled, she was still wearing a dress, whereas the other person was completely naked. Given their positions—one above, one below—it seemed obvious who the victim was.

Wrapped in a thin blanket, hugging her shoulders, huddled in the corner, her body trembling slightly—Aya looked like a poor child abandoned by the world.

'How did it come to this?' It was like being struck by lightning. Operan's mind reeled.

'What on earth did I do?' A massive wave of remorse surged from the depths of her heart. She extended her hand toward the woman before her.

"Go ahead." Aya whispered, allowing Operan's hand to rest on her shoulder, "After you leave, I will quietly disappear. Maybe I really don't belong in the human world."

"No matter what I do, humans will never accept me."

Operan was stunned.

If she was really Levi, if Levi was truly the non-human woman before her…

She had saved her daughter from kidnappers twice, fought off monsters invading the city, and protected countless people.

She had done so much, yet she couldn't be accepted simply because of her race?

This lonely posture made Operan's heart ache.

And now, it seemed she had done something terrible to Aya—yet Aya was still saying such things.

In Operan's eyes, Aya was like a girl who, after an impulsive mistake, could say, "I don't blame you. You don't need to take responsibility." Meanwhile, Operan herself felt like a "bad girl" who had taken advantage and now intended to walk away.

"Levi…" Operan said softly, making up her mind.

Aya curled up her legs and buried her face in her knees—an action meant to hide her expression. After all, she couldn't summon real tears.

'This isn't how it's supposed to go. You should be begging me to stay.' This was the thought running through Aya's mind, 'Why haven't you asked me to stay yet?'

'A lonely girl abandoned by the world'—that's the image she need to portray. Isn't this the kind of scene that easily touches people's hearts? Why isn't she reacting?

Aya's plan had been for Operan to feel pity and remorse, to accept her race and gender, and for their relationship to grow closer. In the end, she had intended to reveal her gender but never her race. However, the sudden turn of events had caught her off guard, and she was nervous.
