Villain in MCU- CH-89. Stock Market Turmoil! Abandon the Car to Save the King!

Obadiah was an old man from Howard Stark's time who had made great contributions to the company.

After Tony's parents died in a car accident, he temporarily took charge of Stark Industries until Tony Stark, who was only 21 years old, turned over a new leaf and took the company to new heights.

His relationship with Tony was very complicated; they were uncle and nephew, friends, and partners.

Obadiah came to the beach villa to discuss company matters with Tony.

Pepper knew it was inappropriate for her to stay, so she said, "You guys chat, I'll go upstairs to pack up."

After saying that, Pepper left quickly.

"Tony, are you okay?"

Obadiah stepped forward and handed him the bag.

Tony took the bag, pulled out a cheeseburger, and took a big bite.

"I'm fine. I've survived all the ups and downs over the years, and this little setback can't overwhelm me."

Obadiah smiled and said nothing.

Tony noticed his abnormality and quickly asked, "Is there something wrong with the company?"

Obadiah nodded in distress and said, "Because of what happened last night, Stark Industries has been pushed to the forefront. When the stock market opened this morning, the share price plummeted by 40 points, a drop of nearly 7%!"

Hearing this, Tony secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

He thought something major had happened, but it turned out that the company's stock price had just dropped a little, which was not a big deal for Stark Industries.

He comforted Obadiah, "Don't worry. I have compensated the families of all the victims in the name of Stark Industries. I have also asked various media outlets to help with public relations. The storm will soon pass. I guarantee that the stock price will recover within a month."

Obadiah's worry didn't fade after hearing Tony's reassurance. Instead, he sighed and said, "As the chairman, you're always focused on developing weapons, and you don't have a deep understanding of company operations and market economics. This turmoil is different from the past. It's a big disaster for Stark Industries."

As he said, Tony was not very proficient in this area.

But Tony at least knew that stock prices fluctuated with market conditions.

Whenever Stark Industries announced the development of a new weapon, the stock price would immediately rise, and this phenomenon had been going on for many years without fail.

After all, Stark Industries' weapons were recognized as the best in the industry and were favored by the U.S. military and allied countries. As long as the research and development succeeded, they would most likely receive long-term orders from the Department of Defense.

Tony put down the cheeseburger and asked Jarvis to pull up the design drawings of the Iron Man armor from three years ago.

"Don't worry, I will make the stock price rise again and reach new heights."

Tony confidently introduced his new Iron Armor plan to Obadiah.

He looked excited and spoke at length, but Obadiah didn't hear a word he said. Instead, he spoke angrily.

"Iron Armor! Iron Armor! To hell with Iron Armor! Do you know why the company's stock price has fallen so badly? It's because your Iron Armor is completely useless!"

"The bank's underground parking lot was littered with the bodies of Iron Warriors. Even the 200 Iron Warriors taken away by the military suffered heavy casualties."

"You praised the advantages of the Iron Man Armor in front of the media, saying that it was the pinnacle of Stark Industries, but in the end... your so-called pinnacle was treated like a toy and trampled on. How could the company's stock price not plummet?"

Obadiah vented his dissatisfaction and breathed heavily.

Tony was not angry but frowned and blamed himself, "Iron Armor was my mistake, I admit that, but I believe that Iron Armor is the future of Stark Industries."

Obadiah turned his head away, not wanting to listen to his nonsense. He only cared about money, money, and more money.

Tony didn't care about his attitude and continued to introduce his great idea to him.

Finally, Obadiah couldn't help but ask the core question, "So how are you going to solve the armor's energy problem?"

Tony said proudly, "Ark Reactor!"

Obadiah snorted coldly and said helplessly, "Tony, you and I both know that the Ark Reactor is just a vanity project, put there for outsiders to see. This project has never made a profit. It has only some theoretical value at most."

Tony said confidently, "The Ark Reactor is my father's legacy. I firmly believe that he would have succeeded."

Seeing that Tony was not moved, Obadiah sighed heavily and didn't want to waste any more words.

He hesitated for a moment and then said, "Tony! You have fallen into a state of madness. You should take a good rest during this period."

Tony frowned, "Why should I take a break when my Iron Armor project hasn't even started yet?"

"Obi! Don't worry, I will take full responsibility. I will also convince the board of directors to restart the Iron Armor Project. The combination of the two will surely produce a great breakthrough."

Obadiah said, "I came here with the order of the board of directors."

Tony's expression froze instantly, and he asked, "Why didn't anyone notify me of the board meeting?"

Obadiah continued, "Because your mistake caused the company's stock price to plummet, you must take responsibility for it."

"The board of directors believes that you are no longer fit to lead the company. They have passed an injunction to temporarily remove you from your position as chairman. They have announced that you have been traumatized by what happened last night and need to rest at home for a while."

He was fired from his own company!

Tony was stunned for a long time before he reacted. He looked at Obadiah with a cold smile and said, "Well done! Let me guess, you should be the successor to the chairman... hmm... I'm right from your expression."
