Fire magic had little effect on the slime, so Monica switched to [Ice Arrow], aiming at the thinnest part of the tentacle.

As she gathered her magic power, she had barely begun the incantation when—

"Ah..." Monica let out a weak scream, her body beginning to tremble.

[Paralyzing Venom]—the black slime's special racial ability—was too much for her to resist. Lacking both the necessary skills and the level to counteract it, she fell victim to the venom's effects, leaving her unable to activate her magic.

The slime closed in, and more tentacles extended from its body, wrapping around Monica, ensnaring her upper body, and tightening around her neck.

"Monica!" Jasmine screamed, but she, too, could not escape.

The massive black slime had not yet awakened its consciousness. It was driven by the summoner's commands and its instinctual craving for magic power.

And the elf girl next to them had the highest concentration of magic power in the vicinity.

"Ah!" The numbness from the slime's touch spread throughout Monica's body, quickly draining her magic. She felt an overwhelming exhaustion as her energy was siphoned away.

"No, it hurts so much..." Her vision began to fade as she fought against the numbing sensation.

She was lifted off the ground, her legs kicking in the air as she was fully captured by the slime.

On the other side, Jasmine was in a similar situation. However, since her magic power was much greater than Monica's, she was enduring the venom slightly longer, though she, too, was near collapse.

Her legs dangled limply in the air, slowly succumbing to the venom's effects. The paralysis had escalated to severe paralysis, her eyes rolling back into her head.

"Let me go! Let me go!" Jasmine struggled, but her strength was rapidly fading.

As their contact with the dark slime prolonged, the equipment they wore began to corrode.
