MCU- CH-247. Comforting Eternity
Added 2024-12-12 06:14:26 +0000 UTC"Uh! I'm relieved that you think so!"
"You don't have to worry too much. Even if everything gets out of control, the one above all will always come to the rescue in the end!"
"At worst, we can just restart. Then I'll run away, and you'll still be the supreme creator god. We both have a bright future."
Luke originally wanted to comfort Eternity, but when he said this, it sounded more like he was trying to persuade Eternity to give up.
Eternity, however, didn't care too much about it. He nodded to Luke and disappeared on his own.
While Luke was taking action, the God Lord Doom was naturally not idle.
He didn't want to lose the powerful transcendent energy in his body, nor did he want to forfeit everything he had now. He couldn't allow the past to be tampered with.
However, his power was not as great as Molecule Man's, and he couldn't freely influence the destroyed timelines of the past.
But he still tried his best to convey an important message to his past self.
"Destiny cannot be changed. The key to everything is Owen Reece!"
Doctor Doom suddenly snapped out of his trance. He had been sitting on his throne, attentively listening to his subordinates report on recent events in Latveria. However, it felt as though an inexplicable force had momentarily distracted him.
The sentence began to repeat over and over in his mind, and the person who had said it was actually himself.
As a top-tier villain proficient in both magic and technology, Doctor Doom immediately suspected his mind had been tampered with.
Without waiting to hear the rest of his subordinates' reports, he gave a direct order:
"Leave me. I have things to attend to."
"Yes, Your Highness Victor!"
The subordinates left without hesitation, packing up their documents and leaving in an orderly manner.
In Latveria, the name Victor von Doom carried supreme authority and absolute power.
Only a select few at the top were aware of his true name.
Years ago, this man had descended upon Latveria like a god, eliminating the lord who had previously ruled the land. He then announced his rule over the nation in front of its leaders.
Under his iron will, Doom transformed Latveria into a world-class power and a paradise within a short time, eradicating war and hunger.
Despite his achievements, what truly inspired awe was not his leadership but his supernatural magical prowess.
Once the room was empty, Doom headed to his secret base.
The base was a blend of extremes. One half was filled with cutting-edge technological marvels, while the other was a mystical realm brimming with arcane power.
Upon arrival, Doom began a thorough examination of himself using both science and magic. However, he found no evidence of tampering.
Instead of feeling reassured, Doom became even more alert.
"Owen Reece. What does this name mean?"
"What is this unchangeable fate? Could this truly be a warning from my future self?"
Even someone as intelligent as Doom found himself momentarily at a loss.
However, armed with the name Owen Reece, he at least had a lead.
He immediately mobilized his resources to investigate all individuals bearing the name.
Soon, detailed information on everyone named Owen Reece appeared before him.
The first result was Molecule Man, whose details stood out because of his past confrontations with superheroes.
"He calls himself Molecule Man, but he's just a second-rate villain. Nothing remarkable." Doom muttered, reviewing the data.
Despite this assessment, Molecule Man was the only individual of interest.
"No matter what, it wouldn't hurt to meet him. If fate truly revolves around him, I should secure his allegiance first."
With that, Doom made his decision.
He ordered his subordinates to send an invitation to Owen Reece, offering him a position under Victor von Doom.
Meanwhile, in the same universe, as Doctor Doom began his investigation, his good friend and nemesis, Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards, was also hard at work.
A few days prior, while conducting routine cosmic observations at the Baxter Building, Reed intercepted an anomalous radio wave. This signal wasn't from their known universe.
The discovery left him ecstatic.
If he could locate the source of the signal, it might lead to another universe.
"Reed, have you pinpointed the source of that radio signal?"
Susan, her blonde hair shimmering, entered the lab carrying a steaming cup of coffee. She was dressed in a blue combat suit that hugged her athletic figure.
Setting the coffee down, she affectionately wrapped her arms around Reed from behind.
Having moved on from Doom, Susan had fallen in love with the brilliant scientist.
Though Reed occasionally felt embarrassed by such gestures, given his introverted, geeky nature, he was always eager to share his discoveries with her.
"Yes, Susan." Reed said excitedly, "I've deciphered the signal and pinpointed its universe of origin."
"However, the message itself is baffling."
Reed's elongated arms danced across the keyboard, pulling up a decoded transmission.
The text was projected onto a virtual screen:
Hungry! Hungry! So hungry!
"The message seems to express hunger, but its meaning is unclear." Reed explained.
"I suspect it might be a distress signal sent by someone trapped in that universe. Alternatively, it could be a test transmission broadcast at random."
Reed had spent days contemplating the possible meanings of "hungry." The word filled him with unease. Should he respond to the signal or not?
"Sue, do you think I should reply?"
