MCU- CH-246. The Molecule Man's Story

The Molecule Man began recounting his life experiences to Luke and Eternity.

While Luke tried to remain detached, he found himself unable to resist the emotions conveyed in the Molecule Man's tale. Eternity, on the other hand, listened intently, carefully committing details to memory.

From the Molecule Man's words, Eternity pieced together an outline of events: the figure before him had returned from the future, having already experienced the ultimate crisis. This revelation brought with it an avalanche of cosmic secrets, all centered on events yet to unfold.

When the Molecule Man described a figure beyond the Gods treating the multiverse as a mere playground, Eternity felt as though he had been struck to his core. Hearing how the Molecule Man had defeated this entity and repaired the multiverse left him in awe.

For Eternity, the logic was simple: anyone who protected the multiverse was a friend. In his eyes, the Molecule Man was now a guardian of the multiverse.

"I thought stopping that curly-haired entity would be the end of my story." The Molecule Man said, his voice heavy with emotion, "I expected to be trapped forever with him inside a Cosmic Cube, but fate had other plans."

He paused, his eyes darkening, "That battle cost me my girlfriend—the first person in the world who truly saw me. It was that curly-haired bastard who took her from me!"

The room seemed to grow heavier as he continued, "Later, the Beyond God Clan began their invasion, and that's when Doom revealed the true reason for my existence. He had a plan, and I went along with it. I helped him eliminate versions of myself across parallel universes, taking revenge on those who toyed with my life and claiming the power they left behind."

The Molecule Man's voice dropped to a bitter whisper, "But in the end, the multiverse was destroyed. I didn't care at the time—I even turned a blind eye to what Doom did with the supernatural power I gave him."

His gaze shifted to Luke, "Then you appeared. You caused a fundamental change in the timeline of the entire multiverse. Predetermined destinies began to unravel, and that caught my attention."

"I tried to investigate you, to uncover your origins." He admitted, "But I failed. Instead, a pair of eyes appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, and warned me off. In that moment, I realized how insignificant I truly was."

The Molecule Man's words carried a deep, raw emotion that unsettled both Luke and Eternity.

Luke frowned, "You're looking at me like that… Are you implying I'm the one who warned you with my eyes? Stop joking!"

A flicker of power beyond comprehension passed through the Molecule Man's expression, and Luke felt a pressure that would have overwhelmed anyone else. However, his adaptability allowed him to quickly recover.

Eternity wasn't so fortunate. As an incarnation of a cosmic principle, he shouldn't have felt physical fatigue, but cold sweat inexplicably formed on his brow.

The realization struck him: if this was the pressure of a mere echo of will across timelines, the true strength of such a presence would be utterly terrifying.

'Alas! This so-called Creator God doesn't deserve the title!' Eternity thought bitterly, his shattered composure leaving him vulnerable.

Years of carefully cultivated self-confidence had been utterly dismantled in a matter of minutes.

Luke, for his part, was stunned but skeptical. He couldn't believe that the eyes Molecule Man spoke of were his own. The more plausible explanation, he reasoned, was that they belonged to whoever had created the mysterious system embedded in his mind.

"For someone to make the Molecule Man feel insignificant… I can't even imagine what level of existence that must be." Luke mused.

The Molecule Man interrupted his thoughts, "Don't be confused. It's you—or rather, it isn't you yet."

Luke's eyes narrowed, "What makes you so certain it was me?"

"My instincts don't lie." The Molecule Man replied simply, a weary expression crossing his face.

Luke sighed, "Fine. I'll tentatively believe you. But when can we counterattack Dispelia's forces?"

Eternity perked up at this, his shattered resolve starting to mend. The battle against the Transcendent God Clan was a matter of survival for the multiverse, and he couldn't afford to wallow in self-doubt.

"It's not time yet." The Molecule Man said cryptically, "I'll let you know when the moment comes."

Luke scowled. He had little patience for riddles, and the Molecule Man's refusal to provide clear answers was infuriating. In Luke's mind, there were two types of people he despised: those who spoke in riddles and those who refused to embrace their inner riddler.

Still, the promise of assistance from the Molecule Man was a partial victory. But Luke wasn't the type to sit around and wait for someone else to create opportunities for him.

He had already sent clones across various universes to monitor the Molecule Man and prepare for any eventuality. Luke trusted himself far more than anyone else.

"Eternity, what's our next move?" Luke asked as they exited the Molecule Man's domain.

Eternity looked lost, his composure still fragile, "This crisis concerns the survival of the multiverse, but somehow… it feels so trivial when they talk about it."

Luke stopped in his tracks, "Have you forgotten who you are? You're the Creator God of the multiverse. Billions of years of existence, and you're letting a few revelations shake you like this?"

Eternity flinched. The words struck a nerve. Before this, he had been the embodiment of cosmic authority—powerful, unknowable, and unassailable. Now, he felt like a mere shadow of himself.

Luke sighed, "Look at you. I didn't come here to break you. But you've got to pull yourself together."

Eternity took a deep breath, slowly regaining his composure, "You're right. I've been complacent for too long. This is my multiverse. I can't afford to lose it."

According to the Molecule Man, in the original timeline, the Beyond Gods were eventually defeated, but at the cost of the multiverse itself. With this foreknowledge, Eternity vowed to find a way to preserve the foundation of the multiverse while still overcoming their enemies.

It was his duty as the eternal guardian of all things.
