MCU- CH-242. I am coming with you
Added 2024-12-08 04:40:57 +0000 UTC"No, it's worse than that!"
Luke's words almost shattered Eternity's composure.
The crisis he described was greater than the one brought by the First Sky. The sheer scale of it was incomprehensible, even to someone like Eternity.
"Luke, please, you must tell me everything!"
Eternity, abandoning the demeanor of a god, grabbed Luke's hand in desperation, urging him to explain.
"All right, fine! Let's skip the theatrics—this is such a hassle!" Luke replied, exasperated. He pointed a glowing finger toward Eternity, whose first instinct was to dodge.
"If you want to know, don't resist. This is a long story, and I'll transfer all the information to you directly." Luke said.
Eternity hesitated, then nodded and stopped moving. He allowed Luke's glowing finger to touch his forehead.
A flash of light passed between them as Luke shared everything he knew about the Transcendent Gods.
"There's a race this terrifying outside our reality?"
"The Ivory King… a being who can kill the Living Tribunal? Even the five of us together are no match for him!"
"They annihilated all life in the multiverse for nothing more than a trivial experiment. Are we really so insignificant to higher-dimensional beings?"
Eternity was shaken to his core by what he learned.
He had always known that a larger existence lay beyond their multiverse, but he had never imagined such devastating power could emerge from it.
Indeed, compared to the threat of those gods, the First Sky seemed trivial.
"Exactly. To them, the multiverse is like an oversized ant nest, and we're just the ants inside it." Luke explained, "Destroying an ant nest isn't a monumental task for an ordinary human, is it?"
"Now you know everything. I'm off to find someone crucial to the multiverse's survival. If you don't have anything else to do, go take care of your own responsibilities." Luke said bluntly.
As he spoke, his appearance began to shift. His dragon-like features morphed into those of a regular human.
He reasoned that the Molecule Man, whom he was seeking, would be more approachable if he appeared human. Even beings like Mephisto disguised themselves when interacting with humans. Luke knew his draconic appearance might provoke hostility before he could utter a single word.
Just as Luke completed his transformation, Eternity did the same. He assumed the form of a black-haired young man who bore an uncanny resemblance to Luke.
"What are you doing?" Luke asked, narrowing his eyes.
"I am responsible for protecting the multiverse. I won't let you bear this burden alone. I'm going with you." Eternity declared.
"..."
Luke paused, then sighed, "Fine, come if you want, but leave your Creator-God airs behind. If you don't, I won't hesitate to toss you out."
He had every right to say this now. In terms of raw power, Luke was at least equal to Eternity. Even if Eternity brought reinforcements, Luke would feel little pressure.
That said, Luke had no conflict with Eternity, and maintaining their alliance was preferable.
"The multiverse is everything to me. I would never do anything to harm it." Eternity replied solemnly. He wasn't angered by Luke's tone. Instead, he was grateful for Luke's actions. Eliminating this crisis would preserve not only the multiverse but also his very existence.
What Eternity didn't know, however, was that Luke's ambitions extended beyond saving the multiverse. He sought to seize the power of the gods themselves.
With the system aiding his rapid growth, Luke saw this crisis as an unparalleled opportunity. If everything went as planned, he would become the rightful heir to the godly powers left behind by the Transcendent Gods.
In the original storyline, Molecule Man and Doom had claimed these powers. Doom ascended from a cosmic villain to one of the strongest beings beneath the One Above All, creating Battleworld as God Emperor Doom.
Although Doom was eventually defeated by Mr. Fantastic, who had also gained godly powers, the strength he wielded was undeniable.
But this time, Luke wouldn't let the opportunity slip away.
When Luke and Eternity stepped onto Earth in the target universe, something was stirring on the other end of the multiverse timeline.
In the vast void of space, atop an enormous world, a figure clad in silver armor and a green cloak rose from a throne woven from the roots of the World Tree.
This was Battleworld. Its inhabitants revered a deity born from the void, a being who created light, the universe, and time itself. This supreme being was their ruler, God Emperor Doom.
But beneath the iron mask, their god wore a look of shock.
"The past is changing. What's happening?"
Doom had been engrossed in maintaining control over Battleworld when he noticed a disturbance—timelines shifting in ways they shouldn't.
When he attempted to trace the changes, he encountered an unknown force obstructing his investigation. The interference sent a chill through him.
Since creating Battleworld and becoming its god, Doom had thought himself untouchable.
He had used the stolen powers of the Transcendent Gods to reshape reality. With the Molecule Man sealed, Doom stood as the universe's sole deity.
Even now, that remained true. But today, for reasons he couldn't explain, the past timeline he had locked away began to shift.
Doom was a master of manipulating time. During his battle against gods, he had fought on multiple temporal fronts, ultimately emerging victorious.
He had traveled to the past, collaborated with the future Molecule Man to destroy a past universe, and emerged as the Great Destroyer. He had even founded the Black Swan cult to hunt down Molecule Man across realities.
But now, as more universes were erased due to the deaths of Molecule Men, Doom had unwittingly attracted the attention of a greater threat.
