MCU- CH-238. Killing the Constructors
Added 2024-12-06 03:10:17 +0000 UTCThe Constructors had never encountered such a situation before. Even the cosmic gods they had battled previously had never been like this.
After all, the system was designed to help them easily control the universe, with all its rules subject to their manipulation through the system's power.
For ordinary cosmic gods unfamiliar with these beings, falling into their hands was almost inevitable.
But this time, they had truly hit a wall.
Luke and the Constructors were no longer on the same dimensional level. For the Constructors, facing Luke was akin to three-dimensional beings encountering a five-dimensional entity.
Luke effortlessly distorted their perception and stripped them of control over universal laws.
Though the Constructors used their system like a cheat code to dominate the universe, Luke had the power to delete their characters, ban their systems, and even dismantle the game itself.
"This is the system you're so proud of? Wake up. The multiverse runs far deeper than what you shallow creatures can grasp."
With those words, Luke clenched his hand, and the Constructors disintegrated into nothing—no flesh, no trace.
Luke then turned his attention to the so-called system core.
However, before Luke could act, the system core, now in humanoid form, disintegrated into nearly invisible spirit particles and disappeared.
Meanwhile, the ruler of the Constructors was trying to contain his fury.
Suddenly, a prompt came from the system:
[Engineer Alaye's life information has dissipated. The system is returning.]
"What? Alaye is dead?"
Before the commander could fully process this, more notifications flooded in:
[Engineer Aher's life information has dissipated. The system is returning.]
[Caretaker Dolonna's life information has dissipated. The system is returning.]
The messages kept coming, without pause, and soon there were hundreds of thousands of them.
With a loud crash, the commander could no longer remain calm.
"All of you, investigate immediately! I am granting you temporary supreme system authority!"
"Deploy every biological weapon! I want this intruder captured, dead or alive!"
The loss they had suffered was unprecedented. Even during past uprisings or betrayals, they had avoided killing their own, opting to erase memories or exile offenders to remote universes.
Now, however, in mere moments, hundreds of thousands were gone.
The Constructors, whose population was limited by their racial biology, faced a devastating blow. Despite spanning over 3.4 million universes, their total population was under 200 billion.
For perspective, intelligent life on a single life-bearing planet often numbered in the tens of billions.
In the past, when the Constructors invaded the 616 universe, the united forces of the three major cosmic empires and the Annihilation Zerg had barely managed to defeat a small Constructor team, with nearly a trillion casualties.
The death of hundreds of thousands at once? Unimaginable.
At the Constructor's headquarters, every available member mobilized to confront the intruder. Massive teleportation devices activated, releasing their most powerful biological weapons.
However, when the intruder was revealed to be only Luke, the Constructors were momentarily dumbfounded.
"Our enemy is just one person?"
"What a perfect opportunity to test this new generation of biological weapons. Let's see how they fare against a being with the strength of 120 billion cosmic gods."
Some muttered enviously, "If only we could replicate his genetic perfection…"
The intruders ignored their comments.
"Intruder, surrender immediately! You have no escape!"
Luke smirked, "I was going to toy with you, but since you're so insistent… let's end this game."
With a simple gesture, infinite divine power flowed through Luke's clones, severing the system's hold on their genetic code.
Crack!
The sound of the system's collapse echoed across the battlefield.
The Constructors froze, terror gripping them as they realized what had happened.
"Our slavery system... destroyed? Impossible!"
"You… you've destroyed centuries of work!"
Luke's voice carried like a death knell, "Thanks for the gifts. Allow me to return the favor with a waltz to destruction."
At his command, the 120 billion clones turned their weapons against their creators.
Weapons designed for annihilation now directed their fury at the Constructors themselves.
The ruler of the Constructors was livid as system notifications of death continued to bombard him.
In desperation, the ruler activated the final failsafe: the core of their system. The spirit particles of the disintegrated core reassembled, connecting directly to the massive fortress of the Constructor headquarters.
This fortress, capable of resisting multiversal threats, was their last hope.
Even now, the ruler had no clue who Luke truly was, despite having engineered one of his clones.
When a war fortress capable of temporarily resisting a multidimensional being confronted an actual multidimensional existence, the outcome was inevitable.
Luke delivered a single punch, and the Constructors instantly realized that the headquarters they had painstakingly built over billions of years was nothing more than a pile of garbage in the eyes of true power.
Even that punch was restrained; otherwise, the dream space itself would have been obliterated.
The brilliant destructive light was transmitted in real time through the system to every Constructor connected to it.
Under their horrified gazes, the defense system they had meticulously crafted for eons shattered like fragile, colorful bubbles under the force of Luke's blow.
As Luke unleashed his punch, a colossal black dragon's phantom emerged behind him. To the Constructors, the apparition seemed eerily familiar.
"You...you're the super god who killed Cyttorak!"
"Was this all your plan? Are you trying to annihilate the Constructor race?"
The Constructor Leader's voice trembled with rage and despair as he witnessed billions of years of work reduced to nothing. The last vestiges of their race's survival now clung desperately to the core of the system.
Though they had anticipated the risks of using Luke's flesh and blood for biological weapon cloning experiments, they hadn't expected this.
The genetic code of a being as powerful as Luke was as tempting to their technological ambitions as the Earth is to a starving Galactus.
Their history was filled with bold attempts, such as targeting the Celestials and their Space God robots. But while they managed to obtain Celestial bodies, their technology failed to unravel the beings' core secrets.
When they acquired the living tissue of a multiverse-spanning god, it felt like their ultimate breakthrough. They created biological weapons of unparalleled strength.
But now it was clear this had been no triumph—it was a trap.
Luke's voice cut through the air like a blade:
"It's not a conspiracy. If you hadn't acted with malice toward me first, I wouldn't have noticed you pathetic ants."
"You are far too weak."
"Technology, when perfected, can indeed be mighty—perhaps even something I'd need to respect. But your development hasn't reached that level."
"A reptile that evolves into a 'noble' reptile is still a reptile. You've overreached, trying to control power beyond your grasp. The only fate that awaits you is destruction."
Luke's words were simple and direct, yet they broke the Constructor Leader's spirit.
Every Constructor across the multiverse heard his words through their systems.
Anger flared in their hearts, but beneath it lay a spreading fear and despair.
As the oldest race, the Constructors had traversed universes for billions of years, sowing seeds of civilization and subduing even cosmic gods, reducing them to subjects for dissection in their labs.
Yet here they were, utterly defeated. Billions of years of effort had unraveled in moments.
Now, their only hope was that Luke would spare the platforms and outposts scattered across other universes. If he focused solely on their headquarters, they might avoid total extinction.
Their leader, however, delivered a crushing blow:
"No! The Constructors will not fall! We are spread across the multiverse. Even with all your power, you cannot wipe us out unless you destroy the entire multiverse!"
"As long as one Constructor survives, we will remember this day. One day, you will pay for your crimes!"
Hearing their leader's defiance, Constructors across the multiverse plunged into chaos.
"Damn it! What is Fasur thinking?!"
"It's over. Everything is over. Prepare to go into exile and abandon your Constructor identity forever!"
"You idiot! Do you want us all to die?!"
"You're no leader—you're dragging us into the abyss!"
Luke's expression remained calm but sharp as he replied:
"I admire your bravery, even if it's sheer madness. You're correct; scouring 3 million worlds to hunt you down would be a tedious task."
"But haven't you already provided me the perfect trail to follow?"
Luke reached for the Constructor Leader, whose system core trembled with fear. It attempted to disperse and escape as before, but Luke wouldn't fall for the same trick twice.
He sealed the surrounding area, nullifying all universal rules.
The core panicked and began controlling the Constructor Leader's body in a frantic attempt to break the seal.
But in this forbidden zone, every "key" it created was useless.
Across the multiverse, Constructors felt their systems shuddering as they realized what Luke was about to do. Their systems, bound to their very lives, made escape impossible.
"Now, it's my turn." Luke declared coldly.
With a mere gesture, the Constructor Leader's body disintegrated, leaving only the trembling system core.
Luke extended his vast and terrifying will into the core, twisting it on a spiritual level.
The core resisted desperately, but it was powerless against Luke's overwhelming force. Like a lamb before a predator, it could only succumb.
Within moments, Luke had seized control of the core, connecting his will to every Constructor across the multiverse.
