GODZILLA- CH-17. One-Sided battle
Added 2024-11-05 12:10:29 +0000 UTCThe scales all over its body stood up as the giant snake broke free from James's hand before he could react.
Then, the giant snake turned its head in anger and struck at James's arm with its deadly fangs.
But how could James let it succeed?
A creature that had just been beaten into submission dared to resist?
James smirked inwardly, then threw a right hook and knocked the giant snake away.
That wasn't all. After smashing the snake's head, James grabbed its tail and threw it over his shoulder right on the spot.
What's the best way to deal with a snake?
In addition to targeting its "seven-inch point," grabbing its tail and shaking it hard can dislocate the vertebrae that hold the snake's body together.
Of course, this is how snake catchers usually deal with smaller snakes, and it might not work as well on a giant serpent.
But one thing was clear: as long as James kept holding the giant snake by its tail and smashing it back and forth with all his strength, the snake would have no chance to resist.
The result was just as James had imagined.
The entire dynamic of the battle changed.
In the center of the fiery battlefield, the giant beast swung the giant snake by its tail, slamming it left and right into the ground, creating a thunderous roar with each impact.
The whole scene was strangely comical, but it left the giant moth hovering in the sky and the water lizards downstream utterly stunned.
This battle was completely one-sided!
They were all giant beasts, yet wasn't this a bit too strong and brutal?
In response, James could only think to himself that this was the advantage of human ingenuity!
In terms of sheer intelligence, James had completely outmaneuvered all the creatures of this era.
Just like this giant snake, being smashed repeatedly into the ground by James. Although it wasn't dead, its head was spinning, leaving it dazed and unable to focus. Naturally, it couldn't fight back.
Moreover, with James swinging its tail over and over, the snake's entire body felt numb.
Its own body no longer obeyed, and even movement was difficult to control.
The entire battle was extremely brutal.
Each time James swung the giant snake high into the air and then dropped it, mud and rocks cracked and scattered on the ground.
The whole area was left in ruins, turned into a wasteland of rubble.
The giant snake's weight was also formidable, forcing James to exert a great deal of effort with each swing.
So, the ground where he stood was now dozens of meters deep, and as the snake's body continued to impact the ground, the surrounding area sank as well.
"How is this possible?"
"The god of poisonous fog has been defeated!"
"What should we do?"
The snake people watching from a distance were completely frozen in shock.
Some of them fell into despair, while others, driven by fanatic devotion, rushed toward the battlefield, ignoring the danger to their lives.
They wanted to save their god.
But stepping into the battlefield was a suicide mission.
With their small bodies, many were flung back by the air currents as they approached.
Even those lucky enough to get closer were quickly crushed to pieces under the thrashing body of their own god.
This battle had no suspense left.
"The great Father God truly is the most powerful being in this world!"
"We won! Father God won!"
"The glory of lava and earth will spread to every corner of this world!"
"Ohhhh!!!"
On the other side of the river, the dinosaur people, in stark contrast to the snake people, were already cheering wildly.
Many embraced, jumping and shouting, feeling as if they were the ones who had defeated their enemies.
The dinosaur elder stood quietly, though his gaze was fully focused on the majestic figure of their Father.
His eyes were fervent, his soul devout, expressing faith ingrained in his very bones.
He vowed to remember the greatness of Father God, to sing his praises, and to ensure that future generations revered him as an almighty deity.
On the battlefield, James wasn't thinking about any of this.
He was exhausted.
"Whew!"
Finally, after swinging the giant snake back and forth hundreds of times, he stopped.
At this moment, the giant snake lay on the ground, looking utterly broken and barely breathing.
"Dead?"
James looked at the unmoving giant snake and slowly approached its head.
"Not bad. It truly lives up to being a beast from an extraordinary world. Its vitality is remarkable."
The giant snake wasn't dead, but it was severely injured and unconscious.
It had been struck hundreds of times, each impact akin to a massive explosion. Any creature would have met the same fate.
Though James was fatigued, it felt incredible.
This was the first time he'd fully unleashed his physical power in this world. It felt like soaking in a hot spring after an intense workout—his body and mind felt thoroughly refreshed.
Surveying the devastation around him and the unconscious snake, James could have killed it with a single thought.
Even though the snake's body was resilient, he could have grabbed its mouth and torn it apart with brute strength.
And if that weren't enough, James was confident that a radiation heat ray into its mouth would finish the job.
Yet, after a moment's thought, he chose not to kill it. Instead, he turned to the river and glanced at the two remaining giant beasts: the water lizard and the giant moth.
The three beasts locked eyes, and for a moment, the next phase of events became unpredictable.
The water lizard and the giant moth were both baffled.
Initially, seeing James's fierceness, they had been planning to flee.
But what happened next?
After he had beaten the giant snake into a near-death state, James actually gestured toward them, using a sign that was unmistakable.
He waved.
The general meaning was clear: he was beckoning them to come closer.
To fight?
Did he think they wouldn't dare?
Wasn't that a bit too arrogant?
The water lizard was the first to recognize his meaning.
After all, the giant had just bested an enormous foe. Now, with a wave, wasn't he just taunting them?
Was he calling it closer, only to beat it up too?
Unbelievable!
This guy was looking down on it, clearly.
Despite feeling hesitant, the water lizard couldn't let its people think it was afraid.
So, in the next moment—
Roar!
The water lizard bellowed to the sky, summoning water to swirl around it.
Just as it prepared to challenge the giant beast on the shore, it saw James also roaring.
But this roar wasn't high-pitched; he was gesturing with his hands.
Was he saying he wasn't looking for a fight?
Afraid?
The water lizard was thoroughly confused. What on earth was James up to?
Perplexed, the water lizard looked up at the giant moth circling above.
The moth, too, was bewildered by the giant beast's intentions.
Could it be that, after defeating the giant snake, James was exhausted and feared they'd attack, so he was offering to share the spoils?
With its ancient, slow mind, the moth pondered until it finally arrived at a "logical" conclusion.
Its eyes gleamed with sudden understanding.
Yes, that had to be it. The other beast was just pretending to be strong but was actually drained.
Share the spoils?
Fine by me!
And if it turned out wrong, well, it could always fly away. As long as it kept a safe distance, it could escape at any time.
