MCU- CH-198. The War begins

When tens of thousands of Kree Imperial warships and tens of millions of biological warships launched powerful firepower at the Phoenixes—firepower capable of destroying an entire galaxy—the cosmic melee officially began!

"What about the Phoenix? It will still be reduced to ashes under the might of our Kree Empire's invincible fleet!"

"This battle will surely make the entire universe witness the military might of our Kree Empire once again."

Watching the Phoenix hosts struggling against the barrage of artillery, Ronan, seated on the Kree Empire's most powerful battleship, the *World Destroyer*, burst with pride.

At least a million Phoenix hosts perished in this first assault, which greatly boosted the morale of all the Kree soldiers.

What they didn't know was that the fallen Phoenix hosts were mere cannon fodder! Their quick demise proved advantageous for the surviving hosts, who absorbed the power of the fallen, growing instantly stronger.

After all, when those hosts died, the Phoenix power in their bodies flowed into the remaining hosts, strengthening them.

"Let Ronan have his moment. Warriors of the Empire, don't let the Kree get too arrogant!"

"Hmph! Let's show these Phoenixes the power of our negative space bombs!"

"Our antimatter annihilation cannon isn't just for show. Open fire and take them down!"

Seeing the Kree's bold actions, other cosmic forces that had been standing by decided to join the fray. In an instant, secret weapons, once carefully guarded, were unleashed.

The battlefield descended into chaos, and Phoenix casualties surged.

Unlike other interstellar forces launching widespread, indiscriminate attacks, the Asgardian heroes led by Thor seemed a bit outmatched. Despite retaining their legendary fighting power, their numbers were limited, and they found themselves almost outclassed by the relentless Phoenixes.

However, Thor quickly proved them wrong, displaying his immense strength. The terrifying thunder he unleashed tore through the void of space, instantly elevating Asgard's threat level among the opposing forces.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Hela observed Thor from *Dispelia*, where she and her followers were rallying. Though she held a trace of disdain, she also acknowledged the strength Thor had gained.

Deep down, Hela felt a strange pride in Thor's growth, having accepted him as her brother.

More importantly, Luke had made her a promise. Though he hadn't shown himself on this battlefield, she had a feeling he'd return with something spectacular.

Under mounting pressure, the Dark Phoenixes—who had been quarreling amongst themselves—suddenly united against their common enemies. However, after only a few exchanges, countless Dark Phoenixes turned on each other, greedily attempting to absorb the Phoenix power from their counterparts.

The fragile alliance quickly crumbled!

"Look at that! They're nothing but irrational beasts, still fighting amongst themselves!"

"Exactly! We must destroy all Phoenix hosts. Even if we can't eradicate the Phoenix Force itself, we need to banish it into a black hole."

"This universe doesn't need such power. Only technology can strengthen the empire."

The cosmic forces, buoyed by increased morale, appeared to gain the upper hand for a moment.

But as the battle raged on and the number of Phoenix hosts dwindled, the commanders began noticing an unsettling pattern—the remaining hosts were becoming exponentially stronger, as if fueled by a mysterious catalyst.

They had no idea that the Phoenixes could devour each other's power to grow stronger, nor had there ever been multiple Phoenix hosts engaging in civil war before.

So when the cosmic forces surrounded a lone Phoenix host, unaware of her absorbed power, they were unprepared for what followed. A golden light burst from her, and an immense fire phoenix rose behind her.

With one indifferent glance, she unleashed a strike that obliterated hundreds of thousands of warships in an instant, leaving many cosmic forces in stunned silence.

Casualties had occurred before, but under heavy firepower, their losses had remained manageable—until now. This single strike wiped out half of the fleet, a devastating blow.

"Not good! Fire everything! Kill her!"

In a panic, the fleet's commanders directed all their firepower at her. But their attacks evaporated within ten meters of the host.

"Evacuate! Evacuate now!"

Sensing imminent defeat, the commanders ordered an immediate retreat. But it was too late.

Fueled by pent-up rage, the Phoenix's flames intensified, releasing a terrifying shockwave that disintegrated everything it touched.

"It's over…"

Seeing this, despair gripped the fleeing forces. And then, an even more terrifying sight unfolded—another Phoenix host of equal power appeared on the battlefield.

In no time, most of the cosmic coalition forces were annihilated, with preliminary estimates placing casualties in the hundreds of billions.

At this point, only the most powerful warriors, including Thor, Jean, Luke, John and Bobby duo from Dispelia, the Ancient One, and a few others, stood a chance against these empowered Dark Phoenixes.

Fortunately, after annihilating many of the cosmic forces, the Dark Phoenixes turned their attention back toward each other.

"Why did these Phoenixes suddenly become so terrifying? Are they truly invincible?"

The commanders of the major empires gathered their remaining troops for an urgent combat meeting.

"No, they didn't become stronger all of a sudden!"

"This is the Phoenix energy index recorded when our Kree fleet was destroyed. Throughout the battle, she grew stronger every moment, especially when other Phoenix hosts died."

Ronan displayed the data for all to see.

"So every time a Phoenix dies, the surviving ones grow stronger?"

"That's correct!"

The room fell into stunned silence.

"If that's the case, then we're doomed either way. Fighting or not, they'll ultimately destroy the entire universe!"

"It seems our involvement is only accelerating their path of destruction."

A deep sense of despair spread across the room as they realized the magnitude of their predicament. Whether they fought or not, the universe seemed fated for ruin at the hands of these relentless Phoenixes.
