MCU- CH-189. Phoenix Hosts

In the multiverse, some time had passed since the last outburst of the Phoenix Force.

The fragments of the Phoenix Force, scattered across various universes, began to spontaneously move toward the universe where Luke was—or, more specifically, toward the ion sharks in the Green Lantern Central Energy Battery.

"Teacher, can you give me a Green Lantern ring?" Jean asked Luke.

Of course, Luke knew that it wasn't Jean herself who wanted the ring, but rather the Phoenix within her. He didn't mind.

"Take it, but make sure the entity inside you doesn't go too far." Luke casually extended his hand, and a Green Lantern ring materialized out of thin air before he handed it to Jean.

"Thank you, teacher." Jean smiled gratefully at Luke. The moment she took the ring, the Phoenix Force within her began to stir.

Though it craved the Ion Shark, the Phoenix in Jean's body had learned its lesson from Luke and didn't dare to approach it directly. Instead, it could only use the Green Lantern ring as an intermediary, achieving a "drink poison to quench thirst" effect.

If the Phoenix was like a cat, then the presence of the Ion Shark was like catnip—a fatal attraction.

"Jean, prepare yourself well; a great opportunity is coming your way."

Though Luke was not omniscient or omnipotent, he could still sense some things occurring within the multiverse.

Before long, most of the Phoenix hosts across the multiverse would converge on Dispelia, and it was sure to be a chaotic battle.

Phoenix fragments are naturally drawn to one another, each one instinctively seeking to devour the others in order to become whole again.

As long as one Phoenix host falls, the Phoenix power within them will naturally transfer to the closest remaining host.

"Teacher, what is this opportunity?" Jean asked. She remembered the Phoenix Riot but hadn't fully experienced it, as Luke had quickly suppressed it at the time.

"You'll know when the time comes." Luke replied with a slight smile, clearly enjoying the mystery.

It was as though he held a secret that she desperately wanted to know, but he wouldn't tell, leaving her feeling as if her heart was being playfully teased.

Jean wanted to embrace Luke and pout as she did when she was younger, but it felt inappropriate for her now

Or may be not?

After completing it, she could only return to Earth with a helpless expression!

In the deep space of the universe, on a desolate planet, two figures, both engulfed in Phoenix flames, were locked in fierce combat.

One of the figures was a woman with an Eastern face, a dragon pattern emblazoned across the chest of her battle suit.

This woman was Wu Fengji, the most powerful Iron Fist who had ventured from Earth into the universe hundreds of years ago. She wielded both the power of the dragon and the power of the Phoenix.

The last time the Phoenix Force descended upon Earth with the intent to destroy everything, the Jade Emperor, ruler of Kunlun, had a prophetic dream. In his vision, he saw a red-haired girl with dragon markings who would become the Phoenix host and avert the disaster.

Thus, the Jade Emperor located the young Wu Fengji, as seen in his dream, and arranged for Lei Gong to train her to become the new generation of Iron Fist to battle the Phoenix.

In the dream, the Jade Emperor saw two possible outcomes: one in which Fengji perfectly merged with the Phoenix and another in which she was completely consumed by it.

By becoming the Iron Fist and mastering the power of the dragon, she could at least stand a chance against the Phoenix.

When the Phoenix Force descended upon Earth, Wu Fengji used her dragon powers to fight it, and in the end, she managed to shatter the host less Phoenix with a single powerful punch.

However, to prevent the Phoenix Force from endangering Earth, Wu Fengji chose to merge with it and flew into deep space to explore other worlds.

This made Wu Fengji one of only three White Phoenixes in the Marvel Universe, capable of fully controlling the Phoenix power within her.

Though there was a White Phoenix King—a higher form able to effortlessly wield the energy of other Phoenix fragments—that form had only appeared once, when Jean took on that mantle.

Not long ago, while training in the universe, Wu Fengji experienced a Phoenix power surge but managed to suppress it with her strength.

And just a few days later, another Phoenix host tore through space to appear before her, attacking without warning.

"Stop! Why are you attacking me?"

Adhering to the principle of courtesy before force, Wu Fengji had no intention of killing the Phoenix host before her, so she defended herself passively in the fight.

Taking advantage of a brief moment in the battle, she questioned her Phoenix-wielding opponent.

However, the other party had no intention of answering her question and was wantonly releasing the terrifying Phoenix energy within.

This was a Phoenix host from another universe, now entirely controlled by the Phoenix Force and transformed into the Black Phoenix. It had lost all reason, its only desire being to kill Wu Fengji and devour the Phoenix power within her.

"Since you won't respond, don't blame me for being rude!"

Seeing that friendly communication was useless, Wu Fengji stopped holding back.

She clenched her right fist, and a shadow of a divine dragon appeared behind her. A dragon's roar echoed through the heavens, soon joined by a fiery phoenix beside it, its powerful cries shaking the skies.

After centuries of training, Kunlun's former strongest Iron Fist had mastered the dragon and phoenix powers within.

With a single punch, she reduced the mindless Phoenix host to ashes.

As the Phoenix power left its former host, it flowed directly toward Wu Fengji. The Phoenix within her became excited, manifested briefly, swallowed the new power in a single gulp, and then returned to its host's body.

"My power has grown stronger again!"

"But what could possibly be drawing all the Phoenix hosts here? I need to investigate!"

With that, Wu Fengji flew toward Dispelia, her body wrapped in golden flames, streaking across the vastness of space like a meteor.

For hundreds of years, supported by the power of both Phoenix and dragon, Wu Fengji hadn't aged a day, though the cost of such power was evident in her dwindling vitality.

This was the consequence of possessing great power without evolving her life force. Immortality remained out of reach, and eventually, she would be swept away in the currents of time.

"I didn't expect you to be the first to take action!"

Luke sensed Wu Fengji's approach. The Phoenix Force within her was like a radiant beacon, emitting fiery signals.

"Interesting… when did such a thriving planet appear here?"

Flying above Dispelia, Wu Fengji expressed surprise.

It was not the scene she remembered from her journey through these stars centuries ago. The place had changed drastically in such a short time.

As she pondered this, she saw a spark of flames shooting toward her from the planet below. The one approaching her was none other than the, John, who had received orders from Luke.
