MCU- CH-164. The Battle of God's and The God Slayer

The moment the Stormbreaker and the Hammer Club collided, the power of thunder and lightning overflowed, forcing the gods watching the battle to step back hastily. Hercules, having passed the twelve trials, also possessed the powerful soul of the Nemean Lion, the beast he had slain during his first trial. After killing the lion, its soul had fused with Hercules, becoming a part of his power. As Hercules grew stronger, so did the lion.

As the battle with Thor reached a stalemate, the lion let out a mighty roar and leaped out of Hercules' body, charging at Thor. Startled, Thor momentarily exposed a weakness. Seizing the opportunity, Hercules struck with his club. Thor barely managed to block the blow with Stormbreaker.

Boom!

The impact sent powerful shockwaves through the air, but Hercules held back. Thor flew backward but suffered no real harm.

Hercules' hesitation, however, displeased Zeus. In his mind, this had been the perfect moment to kill Thor, but Hercules let the chance slip away.

'Hercules, what are you doing? Why didn't you kill him?' Zeus' voice echoed in Hercules' mind.

But in the heat of battle, Hercules ignored Zeus' command, focusing instead on enjoying the thrill of fighting Thor. The two warriors soon resumed their fierce combat.

During the fight, Thor continued to draw on the remnants of Odin's power, rapidly increasing his strength. Hercules, showing signs of fatigue, was eventually overwhelmed by Thor's violent thunder strikes.

"Snort!"

Zeus, watching Hercules retreat with a dark expression, let out a cold, disapproving grunt.

Zeus, who had been betrayed by his own son, decided to no longer conceal his true intentions and aimed to completely destroy Asgard that day. Ignoring the opinions of the other gods, he hurled the lightning bolt in his hand directly at Thor's heart. After all, Zeus had committed countless despicable acts in his life, so this was no big deal for him.

The gods in the pantheon who followed Zeus weren't virtuous themselves. Seeing their leader make a move, they quickly followed suit. They had long awaited the opportunity to challenge Asgard. After all, the thought of personally dethroning the once towering, uncrowned king, Odin, was enough to make their blood boil.

"Zeus, are you trying to provoke a war among the gods?" Loki, who had been watching from the sidelines, angrily questioned Zeus after Thor narrowly dodged the lightning bolt.

"The battle of the gods? I'm not afraid to tell you that today, Asgard will be destroyed." Zeus declared, "Odin's era has ended. From now on, everything about the World Tree will be under my control. There is no longer a need for Asgard to exist!"

At this point, Zeus had torn off his mask, exposing his ambitions to all the gods.

"This old fool, Odin should have listened to me and killed all these guys." Hela muttered, seething with hatred for Odin as she watched the events unfold while hiding in the void alongside Luke.

In her eyes, when Odin had conquered the Nine Realms, he should have eradicated all the gods from the other pantheons. The Nine Realms only needed Asgard to rule as the divine realm. However, Odin, unlike Hela, was not the God of Death. He did not take joy in the slaughter of life and thus held back.

"If you're impatient, you can go help your two useless brothers now, but you'll miss such a perfect opportunity for growth." Luke commented, noticing how Hela's personality had subtly shifted.

"Hmph! If Thor and Loki's strength is this weak, I'll beat them myself sooner or later." Hela snapped, though deep down she had begun to accept her two brothers. Yet, as a tsundere, she refused to admit her growing sense of family affection.

"Then just watch closely!" Luke said, "Thor's potential exceeds this, but he's only ever experienced overwhelming victories. He hasn't fought many evenly matched battles. Let Zeus, that old bastard, teach him something useful for his growth."

In Luke's view, Thor had the chance to break through his limitations and evolve to a cosmic-level being.

While Luke and Hela talked, the battle outside had resumed. Zeus unleashed his full might as a supreme god-king, and bolts of lightning streaked down from the sky toward Thor and Loki.

Thor, however, remained unshaken. He raised Stormbreaker high, absorbing the incoming lightning. At this point, Thor's strength was nearly equal to Zeus's, and as long as he fully harnessed Odin's inherited power, he could surpass Zeus. Yet, Thor still lacked the mastery over thunder that Zeus had, as Zeus had been wielding lightning for eons.

With Stormbreaker's help, Thor barely managed to contain the terrifying lightning storm, but the pressure was immense.

"What are you waiting for?" Zeus called out shamelessly to the other gods, "Destroy Asgard, return to the Nine Realms, and your pantheons will regain faith and power!"

Hearing this, the gods could no longer mask their true intentions. They unleashed their divine powers, launching a massive assault on Loki and Thor.

Faced with this overwhelming crisis, Thor unleashed unprecedented power. His eyes glowed with a silver-white light, and Stormbreaker responded to the change in its master, surging with thunder and lightning. Thor managed to disperse most of the gods' attacks with a single powerful strike, but some of the remaining energy inflicted considerable damage on both him and Loki.

At this moment, a chaotic battle between the gods erupted.

Loki summoned the Destroyer Armor, equipping himself with it, and wielded the Spear of Eternity, showcasing some of the strength and grandeur that Odin had once possessed.

However, amidst the chaos of the War of the Gods, a pale figure dressed in white robes and holding a black sword stood watching the battlefield from the shadows.

"You foolish gods. This universe has plunged into chaos because of your very existence." The figure sneered, "Today, all of you will remain here."

With that, the figure—Gorr—thrust the Necrosword into the sky, and a huge black shadow emerged. Countless terrifying monsters appeared on the battlefield, indiscriminately attacking every god.

A white-cloaked figure moved stealthily among the monsters, harvesting the lives of lone gods.

The sudden appearance of the monsters stunned the gods. For a moment, they were left in disbelief before some began to recognize the creatures.

"It's those monsters crawling out of the shadows again!"

"Oh no! It's the stench of the Necrosword. The sword has found a new host!"

"Damn it, his target is us gods again!"

As the gods realized what they were up against, memories of past encounters with the sword's previous host flooded their minds.

"What are you afraid of?" Zeus called out, "We gods from all the pantheons are gathered here. Even if the Necrosword's host dares to appear, we can overwhelm him and utterly destroy him!"

"This time, we must completely destroy the Necrosword. Even if we cannot destroy it, we must seal it away so that it can no longer harm us gods." One of the gods, still relatively clear-headed, spoke up. They had yet to notice Gel hiding among the monsters.

This reminder immediately calmed the frightened gods, who quickly refocused and changed their targets. Zeus, too, realized the situation was becoming dire.

He had more information than the other gods of the pantheons and some understanding of the God Butcher, Gorr, the figure who had suddenly appeared. In just over twenty years, countless gods outside the Nine Realms had been slain. Moreover, Zeus was well aware of the origins of the Necrosword.

At that moment, a massive monster, several thousand meters tall, emerged and charged directly at Zeus.

"Damn it!" Zeus cursed, feeling the terrifying pressure radiating from the creature. A bead of cold sweat appeared on his forehead.

"What's going on?" Hela asked, confused. She hadn't heard of Gorr, nor did she know the name of the God Butcher. Seeing the chaos unfold, she was baffled by the current situation.

"That's someone who kills gods." Luke explained, pointing at Gorr, who was ruthlessly slaughtering the gods among the monsters, "And you, the God of Death from Asgard, are also on his hit list."

"Hmph! A god hunter, how bold!" Hela snorted coldly after hearing Luke's words. She gripped the Night Sky Sword tightly, then charged straight at Gorr, eager to confront him.
