X-MEN- CH-58. Yuiriko takes care of Martin
Added 2024-10-11 03:36:05 +0000 UTCIn the company, Emma was the general manager in charge of external affairs, Yuriko handled research and development, and Raven oversaw personnel. Little Emma served as Emma's secretary. Whenever Martin thought of this, he would grit his teeth, because the two had become so close now.
When Emma wasn't with Martin, she was inseparable from Little Emma, taking her everywhere, even sharing a bed. Wendy also had a position, acting as the secretary to Martin, the figurehead chairman of the company.
Once everyone got busy with their roles, the house became much quieter, with only Martin and Wendy at home most of the time. Jean lived at school, rarely at home, and only came back during the holidays.
In the past, Martin had been engrossed in life's pleasures and hadn't focused much on strengthening himself. After all, he was already invincible among humans on Earth. But with nothing else to do, Martin began to concentrate on enhancing his powers during the day, particularly the Phoenix Force. Even though this force within him was immensely powerful, his control over it only grew little by little.
At night, they all tried hard, each of them wanting to have children. But unfortunately... time passed quickly, and before long, another year had gone by.
One day, Martin was sitting on the roof when he suddenly felt a mysterious sensation. Everything around him seemed to pause as if the universe itself was responding to him. He concentrated, and the Phoenix Force inside him surged.
Far away in another state, Jean, attending school, suddenly felt her own powers slipping out of control. She left the classroom secretly, finding a secluded spot to focus. As she concentrated, Jean realized the source of this disruption was coming from home.
She worried that something might have happened to Martin, but soon felt relieved as her connection to the Phoenix Force told her he was safe—and happy. Oddly enough, Jean's own Phoenix power was growing, its source tied to a place far beyond Earth, deep within the cosmos.
This strange connection lasted until the afternoon, when both Martin and Jean opened their eyes at the same time, feeling that their powers had significantly increased. Martin, in particular, sensed a vast improvement.
Before, if he could have easily destroyed a city, he now felt capable of much more. He could sense the Earth's magnetic field, but now it was clearer than ever. He looked out at the city in front of him, feeling as though he could destroy it without much effort. In fact, if he wanted, he believed he could wipe out the entire American continent—or even bring about a mass extinction across the planet.
His control over the Phoenix Force had grown so much that he felt he could connect to any person on Earth and even travel through dimensions freely. Still, there were limits. He tried to manipulate time, but to no avail. Time, after all, was the most powerful force, and altering it was no easy feat.
Testing his abilities, he focused on a tree not far away. The tree slowly shrank before his eyes, reverting to a sapling.
"Heh…" Martin chuckled, satisfied with the result. The tree wasn't particularly huge—just around ten meters tall—but shrinking it was still an impressive display of his power. After getting a good sense of his current strength, he restored the tree to its original size.
Drawing from his knowledge of Marvel powers, Martin categorized his abilities. Previously, he had been at a planetary level; now, he considered himself to be at a sub-god level. He called it that because, while god-level beings could easily destroy a planet, it would take him some effort, though he believed he could do it.
At the sub-god level, he was on par with beings like Thor, young Thanos, and Captain Marvel.
"Just a little more work and I'll reach the god-tier level soon." Martin muttered, thinking of beings like Odin and the Ancient One. He was very satisfied with his current progress and pushed himself to get stronger.
Over the years, Martin had been waiting for the Ancient One to appear. Initially, he had wanted to acquire her abilities, but his interest gradually shifted to simple curiosity. Of course, if he could learn magic from her, that would be even better. But despite everything, the Ancient One had never shown up.
It was unlike the stories Martin had read in novels where people who transmigrated or were reborn always got a visit from her. Perhaps the Ancient One only cared about entities from the Dark Dimension invading Earth, or maybe she knew about Martin's powers and didn't want to face him. Whatever the case, she hadn't come.
Martin had passed by Bleecker Street once—just out of curiosity—and didn't notice anything unusual, not even the iconic skylight of the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Shaking off these scattered thoughts, Martin turned his attention to the car pulling up to his home. Yuriko was in the driver's seat. Since the women had started working, they'd shown great enthusiasm, even buying a house close to the company.
They took turns coming back to spend the night with Martin. Sometimes, Martin felt like he was being used—his women would come home at night, sleep with him, and leave early in the morning, leaving nothing but a pile of money behind.
Yuriko, surprisingly, had developed a similar habit.
Martin recalled how, some time ago, Yuriko had worn a white kimono that barely covered her. He had been mesmerized by her for a long time, and from that day onward, it felt like she was completely his. Despite her busy schedule, she still found time for him.
To be honest, Yuriko was much more attentive than Wendy when it came to taking care of him. Whenever she was home, she would always be by Martin's side, serving him tea, massaging his shoulders, and attending to his needs.
Not that Wendy wasn't good, but Martin had to admit—he was a scoundrel.
As Yuriko got out of the car, Martin teleported in front of her, gently pushing her back into the vehicle. He lifted her onto his lap in the driver's seat, and with a thought, the car floated upward, heading toward the mountaintop.
Yuriko smiled, her black eyes gleaming as she nestled into Martin's arms, "The view from the top must be amazing." She said softly.
"It is." Martin replied.
They made their way to the roof of the car and sat down, Yuriko offering the hem of her wide kimono for Martin to sit on. The metal roof was cold, but she kept him warm with her embrace.
The view was breathtaking. The whole of New York lay beneath them. It was Yuriko's first time seeing the city like this, and she excitedly shouted into the wind, venting the stress from her busy life.
Yuriko was wearing a long, silky red kimono, while Martin, who no longer felt hot or cold, was shirtless. The gentle breeze and the setting sun made for a perfect moment.
The only downside was that a minor earthquake had caused the ants beneath the car to scatter in a hurry.
After two hours of holding Yuriko and taking in the view, Martin felt like he had the whole world under his control.
And in many ways, he did.
