MCU- CH-157. Thanos became a God!

He knew very well that once the news of his death reached the Dark Quadrant, the force he had once built would surely fall apart. Although with his current strength it would be a piece of cake to build a force larger and more terrifying than the previous Dark Quadrant, he still had some attachment to the foundation he built with his own hands.

"This aura... it's Lord Thanos."

At this moment, Ebony Maw, who was standing in front of the throne where Thanos once sat, commemorating his master, was suddenly shocked as a very familiar presence appeared once again. Thanos was not holding back his energy, otherwise, someone like Ebony Maw wouldn't have been able to sense it.

Ebony Maw was the only one left in the Dark Quadrant, the former chief steward. The four Black Order generals had followed Thanos into battle and perished, while Nebula and Gamora, the rebellious adopted daughters, had long sought their freedom.

"My lord, your loyal servant, Ebony Maw, welcomes your return!" Ebony Maw knelt humbly before the familiar purple figure, his calm and elegant tone unable to hide his excitement.

"Very good, Ebony Maw. I was right about you." Thanos said, his deep voice resonating through the chamber, "Although I no longer need you now, as a reward, I allow you to continue by my side. However, your power is too weak. In return for your loyalty over the years, I will grant you greatness."

Ebony Maw's expression shifted, clearly moved, "I will always be at your service, my lord!"

A silver-white cosmic energy shot out from Thanos' fingers, enveloping Ebony Maw. In an instant, the once second-rate wizard evolved under the stimulation of this energy. His pale skin turned silver-white, and his robes followed suit. His mental power increased fivefold in mere moments. Ebony Maw had never felt this powerful, and his devotion to Thanos only deepened.

By the time Ebony Maw's evolution was complete, Thanos had already seated himself on his throne.

"Gamora has returned, hasn't she? Where did she go?"

Seeing this familiar scene, Ebony Maw knelt again, but the once lively throne room now seemed deserted compared to the days when the Black Order was still alive.

"Yes, my lord. Her Highness Gamora disbanded her vanguard upon her return. As for where she went after that, I do not know. But knowing Gamora, she would likely choose to live in the freest way possible." Ebony Maw replied. He understood Thanos had certain feelings for Gamora.

In comparison, Nebula, the other adopted daughter, was never even mentioned. Thanos' affection was clearly more focused on Gamora.

After hearing Ebony Maw's response, Thanos remained silent. Since obtaining his new strength, his mindset had changed. While he had once cultivated a father-daughter relationship with Gamora for the final sacrifice, that was no longer necessary. His pursuit of the Infinity Stones was over, and now his connection with Gamora felt a bit purer.

"Spread the news of my return. She will come to me again."

Thanos believed that Gamora's mixed feelings of awe and hatred for him would drive her to seek the truth upon hearing he was still alive.

"Yes, my lord." Ebony Maw stood up gracefully, ready to announce the return of the dark titan to the universe.

A few days later, the news of Thanos' return, coupled with rumors that he had been elevated to the status of an immortal god, spread like wildfire among civilizations across the galaxy.

"Damn it, that butcher has crawled back from hell!"

"Will the slaughter begin again?"

"Is it true, what he always said—that he is the destiny of the universe?"

Survivors from planets that had once been ravaged by Thanos felt a wave of despair. Civilizations that had only heard of Thanos' dark legacy trembled at the thought of when this madman might come for them.

In the Kree Empire, Ronan the Accuser was discussing the return of Thanos with the Empire's high-ranking officials. Despite being one of the three most powerful empires in the universe, the Kree always remained cautious of Thanos' Dark Quadrant. The Dark Quadrant's strength wasn't in its armies but in its leader—Thanos himself.

"Ronan, according to the Supreme Intelligence, there is indeed a force in the Dark Quadrant that we cannot define. Thanos may truly have become an immortal god." One official reported.

"At first, we intended to use that Earth woman to oppose Thanos, but we failed to brainwash her completely. She regained her memories. If Thanos continues with his old ways, what should we do?"

Ronan had once witnessed Thanos' power firsthand. While he was usually arrogant as an Accuser, Thanos' sheer strength had made him hesitant to ever confront the Mad Titan directly. In a different timeline, Ronan's pursuit of the Power Stone had been for the sole purpose of opposing Thanos. Yet, despite his efforts, he had been bested by the most unlikely of heroes.

"Are you suggesting we surrender to Thanos?" Ronan's question brought an awkward silence to the room.

"Your Excellency, the Supreme Intelligence has determined that surrender may be our best course of action." One of the officials finally admitted.

The Kree Empire's decision-making process was driven by the Supreme Intelligence, a super biological computer that aggregated the knowledge and thoughts of the entire Kree population. While Ronan had authority over the military, defying the Supreme Intelligence would lead to his downfall.

"And are you sure Thanos will even accept our surrender?" Ronan's sharp question silenced the room once more.

"Your Excellency, we would like you to go to the Dark Quadrant and deliver our message to Thanos personally."

Ronan's eyes narrowed, "Hmph. That's just like you all." He scoffed, "I'll go, but this is the last time."

Back in the Dark Quadrant, Thanos was already planning his revenge on Luke. Through Luke's previous actions, Thanos had deduced that Luke was also after the Infinity Stones. The Mind Stone, which Thanos had once entrusted to a subordinate race, was now within his sights.

Thanos was ready to reverse his prior defeat. This time, he would confront Luke head-on, reclaiming the Mind Stone for himself.

"Ebony Maw, retrieve the Mind Scepter from the Chitauri. Our revenge begins now." Thanos commanded.

"At your service!" Ebony Maw bowed deeply before swiftly exiting to carry out his master's orders.

Thanos no longer considered Jean, the Phoenix Bringer who had once defeated him, to be a threat. He planned to let the newly empowered Ebony Maw handle her. His true target was Luke—the one who had dared to underestimate him.

As a dark tyrant, Thanos could endure many things, but being ignored was not one of them.
