As we grow we will hopefully be able to reduce the price or even eliminate the charge altogether, so please post print and pics and share as much as possible to help!
Placings support is not a perfect science, in a way it is it’s own art from. People have different printers, different resins, are printing with different temperatures, altitudes, and other conditions. We will attempt to give files (in both .stl format, and Chitubox in case you want to play with or adjust supports to your needs) that will work for everyone.
All files are tested on at least 2 different brands of printer and with 2 different resins. If you are having problems we will try to help you and get you to successful prints. If you discover any errors in a file (support missing, placed too close to the model so it bonds, or possibly too thin for the area it’s supporting) please let us know right away, we will make changes if necessary, and there will be a changelog post in the Patreon so you can see if you need to download any corrected files during the month. We want you to have the best printing experience possible and will work with you to achieve it!
Some advice on settings and other things which may help you get better prints from this amazing Patreon. First off if you need to scale models to fit your game please check this out https://youtu.be/d7nrmGea8yQ
First some basics:
1. Room temperature (or printer enclosure temp) 72F or 22C is recommended as a minimum. Some resins like Siraya Blu or other engineering type resins perform better at 78F (25C) and above.
2. Shake your resin thoroughly before filling the vat. IF your resin is already in the vat and you haven’t printed in a day or more, please get something very soft and stir the resin thoroughly before printing.
3. Make sure your FEP (or non-FEP) film is clean, not foggy, and doesn’t have dings or dents in it. When cleaning, nothing but Microfiber cloth should ever touch your film!
4. Make sure your bed is really leveled properly. Often people have it so pulling the leveling paper out feels tight but one side could be slightly higher than the other so make sure there is equal pressure on the paper!
Now for some generic settings and info that may help prevent fails:
1. Lift speed should be set to 50mm/sec or lower. If you load a full plate or printing a really large model this can be a big help, even dropping to 40 on really big prints.
2. Lift Height - default on most printers is 5mm, on large prints you might want to try 6mm. Please don’t set it under 5mm though on any print (exception is the Longer 30 which seems to be ok so with the 2mm height preset)
3. If you have done all of the above and prints are not sticking to the build plate, it means the bed is not level or your bottom exposure needs to be increased.
4. If you have done all of the above and thin supports are failing, raise your normal exposure time by 1 second and try 1 model as a test until you get the right results.
5. If you have models printing with holes through them, test your LCD/make sure it is clean.
6. If you have a bunch of random extra material being cured/printed, test your LCD screen.
7. If some models on a plate print fine and some fail, it’s possible that your bed is not exactly level so re-check that, also check to make sure your FEP isn’t dirty or damaged in just one area.
If you still get a failure please screenshot your settings, take a pic of the fail, list your printer make and model and resin used, and post in FB group and I will try my best to help you
