Gladstone, Daisy and Donald
Added 2021-04-09 16:43:52 +0000 UTCI don’t know how many of you here know the Disney ducks (Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck, etc) but you surely don’t know I’ve been drawing them many times as human beings in the recent years. I also had the luck and chance to meet Don Rosa in person, in 2019, when he went to Italy for a convention. Don Rosa is considered Carl Barks’ “heir”, since he created the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, an award winner graphic novel about Scrooge’s life and most of all about the American history. He was my hero since I was 10 years old, dreaming on his beautiful and romantic stories. It happens that sometimes I want to draw human ducks again, and this is one of those days. When I was 14 I wrote many fanfictions about Scrooge (my favourite character) and one in particular has been stacked in my mind for years (it was called “human”). I don’t know if it will ever become a real thing, who knows. Anyway sometimes I just have fun drawing these characters: here you see Gladstone, Donald’s incredibly lucky cousin, flirting with Donald’s girlfriend, Daisy (who enjoys a lot being courted). They always make me feel happy!
