Alan's Playlist

Continuing my little tribute today, I have crafted this playlist for you to enjoy. For those of you who are interested in delving into the mind of Alan Rickman, he proposedly gave a list of his top ten favorite songs during an interview for Bottleshock (I can't find the source of the interview, so I cannot prove the legitimacy of this playlist, although it was posted in Far Out Magazine based in the U.K.) Keep in mind that Alan was born in 1946, so many of the songs are classics and not well-known. I would give anything to get ahold of the ipod he was listening to during filming of the HP series. Warwick Davis made mention of this ipod during an interview.

The First Time Ever I saw Your Face is an old favorite of mine as well. Exquisite! I imagine Alan equated the song’s lyrics to his feelings for his dear wife, who seems to have been the only woman he ever loved.

I think I've only heard about 3 or 4 of these songs before, like on the radio etc.

Jduncan2610

Yes, that was the one he wanted at his funeral 😢💔

“Take It With Me” by Tom Waits. I think he asked his wife, Rima, to play it at his funeral. Maybe he dedicated it to her. He planned his own funeral while he was in the hospital dying from Pancreatic cancer.

Darling

I remember er a Tom Waits tune he asked his wife to play at his own funeral. Can’t remember the name . Was that Nancy Wilson singing Imagination? Dinah Washington or Shirley Bassey?

Darling

Lovely. I haven’t heard these songs in awhile. Roberta Flack, Desperado, I Won’t Dance, (I knew he was a big Fred Astaire fan). Dancin’ In The Streets,

Darling

That's amazing! Thank you so much!! I'm looking forward to listen to it as soon as I get home. ❤️
