There will be scenes and aspects about him you won't like to see, but are more truthful to his book character. This won't be a fanfic for everyone. Only those who are willing to look at him without rose colored glasses on. It's a story of transformation. However his family background and certain aspects aren''t cannon. It was written before the information came out.

If Snape flirting and pushing boundaries of social etiquette bothers you now, you aren't going to want to listen to future chapters because he only gets worse. I really explore his shadow side in this story. There might even be some influence of Henry Higgins from My Fair Lady laced through here, who definitely would have been a Slytherin. I realize not everyone is going to like everything I produce, which is why I offer a variety of different content from sweet and romantic, to dark and dirty. Everyone has their flavor.

He is meant to go through a lot of character development. But he will be sexy doing it. I want the reader to be on Maggie's side, encouraging her to stand up for herself and discover her self worth. Her innocence and good nature is her strength, not her weakness.

I had to add a little bit of Alan's tragic romantic hero vibe just to mellow him out, but we are going to see more of the wounded masculine who projects his disdain onto others and doesn't hold himself accountable. Maggie has her work cut out for her if she falls for him. He is not a very nice man at this point in his life. This is not dark Snape, but more of a coniving, selfish, ambitious Snape.

It's very much like the Snape from the books (still a lot of character development to go, but intrigued by the idea of someone who might see past his taunts and sneers and view them as the self-defense mechanisms that they are). 2024-06-10 03:51:37 +0000 UTCHe frightens and intimidates her. I don't think she is aware of her attraction to that just yet. She's never met anyone like him and he intrigues her. I think Maggie has lived a very sheltered life up until this point. The war hasn't reached her yet and she doesn't understand the danger she is really in being around the people and place she is. She very niavely took the job. Her innocent, submissive nature is what attracts Severus to her. He teases and bullies her, testing her gumption. I think he finds her attempts to stand up to him amusing, because he can see she is naturally good natured and shy. I don't think he meant to flirt, it instinctually came out while he was trying to intimidate her. Something else took over. He enjoys insulting and embarrassing people, which he developed over years of trauma and self preservation. But when he made her blush it turned him on, which surprised him. There is a bit of a power play and we will see Severus struggle with the ability he has to manipulate her. He isn't interested in a partner, and yet there is an opportunity here that he finds tempting. He doesn't think she is going to last, just like all the other staff that take off running when they realize Hogwarts is a very dangerous place to be. The Slytherin in him can't help himself. He is a bit of a bad boy right now. Very selfish and self oriented. I think he's adopted this attitude because he believes no one cares whether he lives or does, everyone basically hates him so why bother caring about other people's feelings. He is determined to make the most of his situation in life and he doesn't care who he steps on along the way.

I can imagine how intimidating he was to Maggie. Angular, disgruntled face, dressed from top to toe in black, complete with put downs and suspiciousness. She stuck up for herself at the end. ๐She likes him though, there is a connection or she wouldnโt have brought dinner.

So does the female lead. She is very innocent and gullible, and falls for all his tricks. She has to learn to manage him and stand up for herself. His intentions are less than amicable out of the gate.

I was working through a big move, audio and equipment issues, and illness, amongst other stressful events. It's been a rough couple months. Also, Part 2 isn't as long as Part 1 to finish the chapter.
