Thanks for the shout out! Lol we might not always agree with you guys, but I appreciate George has the self-awareness to realize when he might have a different perspective on things. Always a fun time listening to your guys' discussions regardless. Like Graham was alluding to during the slave discussion, paying off her parent's debt is a potentially trickier situation than it would first appear. Charity isn't always as black and white as it seems. How do we know Julie's parents were good people or what they were even in debt for? They were willing to sell their child into slavery for money after all... Just like in real life, oftentimes giving people money or providing for them unconditionally doesn't end up helping them at all. Hypothetically what if we gave a homeless alcoholic $1000? Odds are he's just going to be drunk for a few weeks and then broke again. You can try to get him into a program, but does he even want to and are you willing to dedicate the extensive time and stress needed in order to rehabilitate this random stranger who may or may not find themselves right back where they started after you leave? It's the same thing Rudeus was deciding on when he first bought Julie. Maybe he could set all the slaves free, but where would they go? What skills do they have? Do they even speak the language? Does he even have the ability to get them home? Some of them might even be criminals from their homeland, so they couldn't even return if they wanted to. And the ones that do very well could just be sold off again. After he saw Julie still had the will to go on, Rudeus was willing to take on the burden in helping to give her a purpose. That says a lot compared to what most people would when it comes down do it

Yes, Pursena and Lilina are defiantly supposed to bring up bickering comedy duo tropes.

Yeah, I think the author played off a lot of this for comedy. We had a bunch of really heavy episodes previously so it's a needed respite for a while. It's fair to say it "just anime" in this case. The antics didn't bother me and I think the more slapstick comedy nature of it probably resonates stronger with Japanese tastes than westerners.

Ah, yes, I forgot about that story! That's why Julie is afraid of Rudy, after witnessing how he dealt with the Beast Girls.

One of the things I respect about the show is that even with the time crunch they are still willing to present the uncomfortable topics without preaching. It gives reactors and viewers an opportunity to discuss, and think. I also think that it sometimes gets missed that Rudy did or threated to do to the Beastkin princesses what his own bullies did to him. He got into the position his bullies were in and was prepared to make their choices.

How did Lilina and Pursena beat Zanoba. With the same tactic they tried against Rudy. Pursena used Doldia voice magic to do a stunning howl then Lilina performed a knockout blow on the helpless Zanoba. Both girls had been running amok with a gang of delinquents until Ariel and Fitz showed up. Fitz at the start of the fight blew out her own ear drums so the howl wouldn't work then used incantationless magic to beat them. Lilina and Pursena didn't respect it because it wasn't a win using Fitz's physical strength. If you will note the girls were already acting submissive when they were tied up. But Beastkin don't just respect strength, they are also very religious, they realized they didn't just smash a "creepy doll". They smashed an "Idol" a venerated object of worship. They realized that Rudy is a religious zealot and it terrified them. I also wouldn't assume that there won't be consequences.

Gather round children and I'll tell you a story. The story of the Digging Monster. Dwarven children must always be good and obedient, for if they are not they may attract the attention of the Digging Monster. If you do see the Digging Monster do not try to fight it or run. If you do it will make the ground soft as mud beneath you and catch you in a hole. Then it will grab you up in it's sack and take you back to it's lair. No one will say what the Digging Monster does to bad boys and girls, but 2 or 3 days later children who look just like those captured by the Digging Monster will return, but they will be good and obedient children.

Thanks again for your reaction, guys. Waited for this episode for some time, really happy you touched upon systematical nature of slavery and what can you even do here, most of reaction channels are just mad at Rudy that he did not destroy the whole place avengers style and freed all the slaves at once, without even thinking of complex question of politics and culture of the place. Some cut content for you again. 1. Slavery. In the novels, Rudy had a lot of inner monologues which were cut off. In them, he thinks about slavery overall, his opposition to it but inability to do anything right now, because he is basically a nobody and if he were to try to oppose something that is backed up by the whole kingdom, he will likely be killed by said kingdom. 2. Julie. As for her, he decided to sort of adopt her with Zanoba. She has no relatives, she cannot survive and have no skills to get money, so they teach her and give her a free choice either to leave or stay with them. Julie has chosen secong option. 3. Zanoba duel. You might have noticed Pursena's inhale before start of a fight. You may remember how Rudy was stunned with howl in the first season by a beastkin. Basically their magic is sort of Dovakin style screams, and one of the skills makes enemy who hear this scream be stunlocked for some time. You could imagine how exactly Zanoba lost the duel. 4. Beastkin habits. In this world, beastkin not only have cute ears and tails, but also show some habits of their distant relatives, such as being in heat in some seasons, hating water (try to dose some water onto your cat or dog and see how they would like it), and also the dominance rule. If you are stronger than me, It's only natural for my beast instincts to think of you as the leader of the pack. Basically Rudy proven that he is the strongest here, so he should be our leader in this place, plain and simple animal logic. Will be waiting for your next reaction!
