Half-demon is a mistranslation. Emilia is not half of whatever Rem/Ram is. Rem/Ram are "Oni", Emilia is half "Ma" which is impossible to translate to English, but I guess half-devil is an ok translation. There are many many mistranslations in the official subs unfortunately.

Since itβs been mentioned that she may or may not be the reincarnation of the Witch of Envy and or a vessel. So this begs the question how does Satella know of Emilia? Questions like these always make me wonder just how OP Satella must be. I think the half-demon thing is referring to her elf half, so maybe they refer to full elves as demons for some reason? Or since the witch was known as a half-elf they call Emilia that as well.

It came from Light Novel content apparently OVAs historically refer to direct-to-home-media. Either a vhs tape with bonus content, or a dvd special, or even a series or movie that just didn't get on TV or theaters (or had unrated content not suitable for broadcast).

The first one fits more of what you'd imagine an OVA to be, just a silly side episode where the characters do some meaningless shenanigans (at least as far as I remember). The "Snow Festival" happened during that OVA, and I guess the second OVA takes place in Emilia's memories right after the events of the first OVA (honestly forgot it even mentioned the first OVA). I imagine most people, like myself, asked you to react the second OVA (Frozen Bond) because it's infinitely more interesting and gives more context about Emilia's backstory. The first OVA is still cute if you wanna react to it later, but it's not by any means necessary (again, as far as I remember).
