That's a fair point. I'll make sure to let George suffer a bit more next time π

fair enough, I feel like you could have trolled him for longer since I was expecting him to jump after seeing Rem lol, but since he already knew at that point he just went "Oh right Rem's there"

Hahaha! I think George was moments away from figuring it out, so I figured I would put him out of his misery. Maybe it was the wrong call, but I think we milked the best parts out of his shock by that point π

56:56 Graham, brother, for god's sake... why... I was so enjoying him being actually trolled to the point of pausing, and then you had to tell him about the apple before we get to actually see his reaction, cmon... π

56:35 - I can relate to George so much. For some reason (maybe the door rang or something, idk anymore) I had to pause the episode at that moment too. While I was walking away from that paused screen, it slowly got to me: βwait, is that the FIRST respawn point? Oh shit!β
While I was going back to continue watching, my mind literally went crazy. Thoughts like: βwtf, EVERYTHING just resetβ or βhe didnβt even meet Emilia yet, right?β
and there was almost something like grief, that he had to win Rem and Ram over again at the mansion.
Iβll never forget that relief, seeing Rem standing there.
And yes, I am sure, they did that 100% on purpose to really shook us too.

Absolutely excellent breakdown of Subaru's mental state and interaction with Beetlejuice

Hell yeea! George finally recognizing the quality writing of Re:Zero. Only took 14-15 episodes to see it, but glad we got there haha. Tappai's writing is amazing indeed.
The usage of the seven deadly sins in the story is definitely interesting. Envy, Sloth, Wrath, Pride, Gluttony, Greed and Lust.
In regards to Subaru's mental break, I both agree and disagree with Petelgeuse's perspective. Subaru's mental break was genuine.. but he wasn't so far gone to become insane. Ofc Petelgeuse would know what true insanity looks like lol. So from Petelgeuse's perspective, Subaru didn't fit the criteria for insanity.
What he technically said was right - Subaru surprisingly is still all there mentally. He's hiding away from the world to run away from the situation so he doesn't have to deal with it.
However that doesn't mean his trauma isn't real. This is a real form of a trauma response - when you are traumatised so much from what you went through, that you internally mentally withdraw from reality as a coping mechanism. A form of dissociation.
You could call it "Sloth." He's running away from reality by doing nothing. "If I do nothing, whatever happens isn't my fault.".
Subaru chose the Sloth route by doing nothing.. and he suffered the consequences of his inaction.
So with the ending of Episode 15, I guess it looks like Subaru has chosen the Wrath route now? π bro is on a war path indeed...
