Ohh nice I'm looking forward to what George has to say as the first timer. Its always funny to see your reactions (I'm assuming is Graham) as someone who has seen the first season.. reacting to certain things cos you somewhat know the context behind it 😄

Its what makes Re:Zero a rewatchable show. All the little bread crumbs they sprinkle in while your attention is on the physical suffering happening to Subaru 😄

2025-01-10 01:06:06 +0000 UTCI think this is a pretty strong extraction just from the little she has said. I think most people watching for the first time wouldn't so quickly come to such large conclusions. Things seem more obvious in retrospect. The breadcrumbs are definitely being placed though!

2025-01-10 00:59:25 +0000 UTCI think we can find clues to Rem's (extreme) perspective with her dialogue to Subaru "Someone associated with the one who has caused my sister so much agony, boldly encroaching on the place we call ours." I think this heavily implies past tragedy or traumatic event with the witch's cult. Something happened to lead her to have such a triggering reaction to anything regarding the Witch's Cult. Rem also considers the mansion home, a place where they were able to put the past behind them.. finding purpose and peace together. So to have someone seemingly connected to the people who caused so much pain to them, coming here and acting like they're friends.. yeeah I can understand the perspective. Its still extreme asf, but makes sense.

Yeeah Rem doesn't exactly create a good impression to us especially with Subaru as the protagonist where we can see he has good and innocent intentions. But lets be honest.. he isn't doing himself any favors going out of his way to look suspicious asf. Random boy nobody knows just happens to meet Emilia, one of the royal selection candidates at this time with the country in political unrest. Boy clings to Emilia acting weird and more close to her despite her not knowing who he is. Has a strong aura of dark magic resembling that of the Witch of Envy (this world's equivalent of The Devil) which implies a connection to the Witch's Cult. On top of that in the latest timeline, boy decides to make himself a house guest and spends his time sneaking around checking stuff out. Acts like he is leaving the mansion and is found on a mountain top with a clear view to Emilia's window and is holding a weapon. Yeea ALL the circumstantial evidence is too weird lol.
