Jobless Reincarnation Season 1 Episode 11 Full Reaction

Jobless Reincarnation Season 1 Episode 11 Full Reaction

Comments

Eris not being able to cut it on the first try and then being able to do so on the second is a normal thing, especially if you add Touki to this (the fighting spirit they use to enhance their physical strength and get superhuman powers which Rudy doesn't have, all of this skipped from season 1 and 2 of the anime btw) this is a small scale, but take for example a clip of some martial artist trying to cut a wooden blank, you can see them hitting it a few times in some clips and going nowhere with it, and then on the third hit for example, it goes from nowhere to clean cut in half, now do that with a sword, and now add Touki to that, Eris underestimated how strong the scales were, didn't put enough Touki/Fighting Spirit into her attack, then on the second time she did, it's normal

Yes it definitely will! We're taking a short break from all reactions for the Holidays but will pick back up right after the New Year. Unfortunately because of our limited schedule we won't be able to pick this one back up right away but as soon as we're done with Steins Gate this will come back as double episodes! So it's a bit of a wait but nothing too crazy

Is this series going to continue?

George's observation that Rudy approaches life in this world like a video game is very astute in my opinion. We can see this from the very beginning where Rudy met Sylphie for the first time and his first thoughts were about what benefits he could reap later by being "his" friend. Or for another example where Rudy tried to act like a visual novel protagonist would in his mind towards Roxy, He got a first glimpse of things being real when Ghislaine rescued him and Eris and he saw the blood of the kidnappers but I think this episode is where he got really pulled down to earth and he had to come to terms with the fact that his actions have consequences and he can't "min/max" his way through life.

Ok thanks! We'll check it out for ep 12-13!

It's a tail end teaser on this episode. We had the experience from the village partially shown at the start of an episode during the op. Cut content Rudy and Eris argue that Ruijerd should treat them as warriors not children. He is resistant and Rudy shows what he can do by casting a modified stone cannon, at a Stone Treant, which he one shots. Next as we see in the anime Eris takes out an entire pack of Pax-coyotes with Ruijerd just coaching.

Ah yeah it's too bad they cut that out. For me that would have helped a lot. Which episode was the scene at? We'll check it out when we start watching again!

As for Eris' combat experience, she got some on the way from the village to the city in the LN, where Ruijerd gave Eris and Rudy the opportunity to test their combat skills against monsters while he watched as backup. Unfortunately, this was cut from the anime. By the way, you missed the after-credits scene. It is not too important as the next episode starts with it, but it would have been nice to see your reaction.

Even though Eris trained with Ghislaine, it just doesn't make sense to me how she could be on the same level as Paul. He's a seasoned and experienced adventurer. It doesn't matter to me how much training you get and from who, practical battle experience goes much further imo, and I think having them on the same power level~ makes the power system seem cheap in favor of the main characters. I'm fine with her being strong, but this is her first time properly fighting things, it would have been nice to see some kind of real battle experience progression at least. It's not totally a deal breaker, but it does take a bit away I think. -Graham

Appreciate the excerpt from the LN! I hope that things will improve for me as the show goes along, because I really do want to enjoy it. I think park of the problem is that it's hard to adapt the details that a novel would have, which goes for most text to visual adaptations.

Rudy's estimation of economics. Stone coins:1 yen Scrap iron coins:10 yen Iron coins:100 yen Green ore coins:1000 yen Asuran coppers:100 yen Asuran large coppers:1000 yen Asuran silver coins:10,000 yen Asuran gold coins:100,000 yen.

"We were up against an A-ranked enemy this time, so I tweaked the spell slightly to increase its power. The projectile I created was a hollow, wedge-shaped rock, filled with concentrated fire magic that would cause it to explode on impact. I fired it off at supersonic speed, expecting to see it slam into the snake's side with an ear-splitting boom. "Wah--"But to my surprise the Red-Hood Cobra twisted itself around and evaded my bullet. ...In the meantime Eris had circled around to the rear of the cobra. She took a big swing at its tail with her sword. The blow struck home, but didn't cut all the way through the snake. It's scales or perhaps its muscles, were clearly tough." LN 3 Chapter 12. Many of Graham's complaints are addressed in the LN and I promise you will see more of Rudy's spell crafting later in the anime. Much of the last three episodes have been worldbuilding for what is to come. As for battles, Rudy and Eris are already stronger than the average adventurer in this world, and they are still training. Another way to think of this arc is that they have moved from basic training, dueling and such to field training. Ruijerd is a combat veteran and a powerful resource for how to actually work as a team and take down foes. Eris is understanding why Rudy wanted to learn foreign languages, the prices of things, mathematics, reading and writing. Yes she is relying on Rudy for those things, but that is just building him up in her eyes.

Just a thing before I forget, Mushoku tensei is not a power fantasy if it's what you are worried about. Sure the main cast is strong compared to the average monster or aventurer but they are far from being invincible. Rudy is the perfect exemple of that, he is the definition of a glass canon, one hit and he is done for. One more thing you underestimate Eris to much, she trained under Ghislaine a Sword King's for years and she is advanced in the Sword god style, for comparaison Paul who was a S rank adventurer is also advanced in Sword god style. She was already really strong before the mana catastrophe but there was no dangers at the time so no way to see how strong she really was, she didn't get a power up out of thin air.
