Lessgo! Time to start from zero right here 😄 The author makes a great deal of showcasing all his personal behavior and flaws in what he does NOW in this world. So I'd say pay attention to his thought process, choice of words spoken and his actions throughout the story, as those give hints to the kind of person he is and the kind of life he had before being summoned here. Re:Zero is a very character focused story. Its also a long running story, so don't expect all the answers to be given any time soon. Subaru Natsuki is one of the most polarizing main characters in anime - many love him for how he is written and the way the author conveys his personal growth over the story.. and many just hate him (some unreasonably so lol).. but you'll see the reasons why the further you go.
