Yes there's certainly a lot of details. Fungxian and Lakan's story is very sad, but at least they can enjoy her last months/years together

So, Fungxian once she was pregnant has no value and so to continue to gain money etc had to take customers but low end ones and go all the way with them, that's how she got sick. For the old lady, 2 things, Feungxian hated lakan because he abandonned them so the old madam protected the will of Fungxian . In the episode, there was an another aspect, Meimei wanted to be bought by Lakan and the old lady wanted that to happen also. Fungxian has no more than a few months/maybe 2 yeras to live. Nobody is all god, nobody is all evil. If you have free time, i suggest you rewath this anime in dub, there is so many details hidden
