Don’t worry I was fucking pissed off because I had so many questions. The higher ups (GOVT.) started a bunch of shit and ruling out these stupid orders because guess who kept them in check? That’s right, Gojou. Gojou was the sole reason they even had any type of freedom and not just 9-5 JJ Sorcerers. He kept them in check and now that he’s gone, both sides are acting out their plans. Season 3 is going to be insane! Okkutsu Yuta is my favorite character, y’all ain’t ready.

Exactly. Think of Yorknew or the Chimera Ant arc especially; were those satisfying conclusions in and of themselves? Not really. On their own, they have the most anticlimactic endings ever when you really think about it. They're only great because they're seated where they are in the story.
Imagine having to experience the Yorknew City arc as a standalone season and then having to wait for years after that terrible bait and switch regarding Hisoka and Chrollo for example. I think in terms of unsatisfying conclusions to arcs, Yorknew City is arguably even worse than Shibuya Incident. But as a viewer you don't actually mind it, because there's nothing holding you back from experiencing those open-ended story beats finally being satisfied somewhere along the line immediately after. If Shibuya Incident left a sour aftertaste in your mouth because of its abruptness, then the fact that Hunter x Hunter is bingeable is merely a mouthwash.

I understand that it's a build up to the next season, which is totally fine. My issue is that the previous season didn't get a satisfying conclusion, which is why I didn't accept the way they did the build up for what comes next, because I'm still waiting on closure from the stuff I just experienced. It just felt like it left me hanging.. interested in what comes next, just not satisfied. I don't think this is a good way to bring people into the next season, because it turned me off more than made be intrigued.
I watched all of hunter x hunter and didn't feel how I'm feeling right now, but I think you're right, it's because it was on going and it didn't feel so empty, because I could just keep going.

I think Graham's problem is that he expected a grandiose conclusion to the arc, spoon-feeding the viewer a definite outcome. That's probably why the disappointment hit so hard when all he got was a neatly wrapped cliffhanger in episode form. It's a technique used a lot by the author of Hunter x Hunter. Resolving all the tension in such an atypical way may confuse you at first, but upon experiencing the next arc eventually, you'll start to realize the worth of going about it in such an "anticlimactic" way. It's merely build-up. A teaser is what it is. All so that the author can prolong the underlying tension to reel in an unsuspecting viewer. It makes it so the story doesn't feel too linear; like everything is connected by a certain type of flow if that makes sense.
Though, to be fair, I think this technique only works flawlessly when the story is ongoing (which it is in manga form). Because you get a continuation to those story beats in a week anyway, it doesn't leave a sour aftertaste in your mouth at all. However, this doesn't ring true to an anime production unfortunately.

That's a good point actually, I would have loved to see that shown to some degree in the ending. Would have done a great job to show the terror and ramifications of Gojo getting sealed away

A big part of the "Chaos" that was implied is that early in the season it was stated that Gojo's birth changed the balance of the world. That cursed spirits grew stronger just to compensate for Gojo's existence. (Episode with the granny seance backstory. The mustache guy even says he had to go into hiding just because Gojo was around). Here it was implied that the reason why Jujutsu society was able to function was because of Gojo. Without him the balance of the world will shift once again.

unfortanely, I cant give spoilers, but you gonna have to trust me on this one, because I didn't lie to you about how great season 2 was, but the season 3 arc is my favorite arc of the series (the arc that is ongoing right now in the manga is also DOPE AS FUCK)
so even if you have a lot of doubts, when you see season 3 you will be like "ooooooh so that's how it is"

also, the last 30 minutes of Graham ranting about the sensation that the season finale makes us feel somewhat unpleased is true

That's a really great detail that I didn't understand. Seems like we could have used the narrator for that one LOL. Thanks Pedro!

for example, George was feeling the same as Itadori, wanting revenge and prolong Mahito's suffering. Meanwhile, Graham knows that this is cool and stuff but Itadori better finish Mahito quickly before something bad happens... and it happens almost instantly lol
btw, that time when Mahito switched half his face/shoulder was to basically transfigure his body to dodge Itadori's attack, because while he is ultra strong is his true unbridled form, he cant tweak his appearance anymore in that state (it is stated in the manga so it was a lot easier to understand)
