Seeing your reaction reminded me of a quote from another show RWBY. “Just because you know how a story will end doesn’t make it any less fun to watch.” I think this episode really holds true in this case. We slowly had it shown to us Frieren is playing Aura. We knew for sure she was gonna be stronger than her but the build up and having us understand how and why it works but also the complete humiliation that Frieren put on Aura by being so much more powerful and letting her think she won was just amazing. Lol not to mention the toxic gamer Frieren moment when she order Aura. I know the show is different in many ways and I don’t want to overhype but in my opinion what comes ahead is on the same level if not more than this. I think the fact we get well utilized flashbacks to support information in the present is the perfect way to deliver a satisfying conclusion to how they face threats.
