The Unexpected Summoning Ch.5 (Harry Potter/High School DxD)

Read Chapter 4 here

A/N: The last 4 chapters have been edited. It's mostly minor.

Rias wasn’t a fan of Grayfia interrupting them. Not only because it deprived her of having Harry between her legs and eating her out like she was his favorite dessert, but also because of how terrified Harry seemed to be.

Rias knew her lover was scared of meeting her brother even though she reassured him that nothing would happen. Since there would be plenty of opportunities in the future for them to meet, Rias would delay the meeting as long as she could.

“Grayfia!” Rias stepped in front of Harry as if she was shielding him from the silver-haired devil, “Harry doesn’t need to meet my brother right now. Stop trying to force him!”

“Rias-sama,” Grayfia acknowledged, “While Lucifer-sama would like to meet the man you claim as yours, that is not why I need to speak with Harry-sama. If you wish, you may accompany us since it is relevant to your rating game.”

Rias deflated when she was reminded of the rating game. She had been so lost in Harry that she had somehow forgotten that there was an event that could decide her future.

“I see,” Grayfia said with disappointment, “The rating game must not be of great importance to you. Perhaps I should recommend Lucifer-sama to take away the special privilege he has acquired for you.”

“Special privilege?” Rias perked up, “What is it?”

Grayfia’s gaze moved from Rias to Harry, who looked lost at what they were talking about. “Because of your inexperience, Harry-sama is allowed to join the game as your contracted magician.”

Rias squealed in excitement and twirled before launching herself at Harry.

“To be eligible,” Grayfia said over the high-pitched noises leaving her sister-in-law’s mouth, “Harry-sama must use the piece Beelzebub-sama has specially created.”

Grayfia pulled out a chess piece, a pawn, that was glowing a soft red.

Harry gained tunnel vision while looking at the innocuous-looking chess piece. No matter how ordinary that pawn looked, someone called Beelzebub created it. Now Harry wasn’t some expert in Abrahamic mythology, but he knew that Beelzebub was called the Lord of the flies. A prince of hell that was associated with pestilence.

Harry wanted nothing to do with that thing.

[It will not harm you. But the power it contains is demonic in nature.]

Right, if the resident soul leech says it has demonic power, that’s enough for Harry to stay away. He conveniently ignored the first sentence.

“You decline?” Grayfia asked with disapproval, seeing Harry’s distrust.

“What?” Rias pulled away from the hug to look at Harry’s face, “You won’t help me? With your help, there’s no way Riser can win! I saw how easily you defeated him!”

[Ha! Are you really going to let your devil woman get stolen? She had no chance to beat that man.]

Harry was hit by three attacks, one after another. It wasn’t like he didn’t want to help Rias, but when he woke up this morning, Harry had resolved to not jump into new situations like an absolute moron. And accepting something that was made by Beelzebub seemed highly moronic to him.

“Could you give me a moment to speak with Rias alone?” Harry requested Grayfia, making the maid raise her eyebrow.

Nonetheless, Grayfia allowed it, “Very well. I shall return tomorrow to get your answer.”

She immediately teleported out to leave the couple alone. When Harry focused his full attention on Rias, he became aware that she seemed deeply hurt by his hesitation.

“So, did you just use me for sex?” Rias asked with a quivering voice, “I thought you wanted to be with me.”

Harry stared at Rias blankly for a second before scoffing and giving her a hard smack on her arse.

“Ah!”

The depressing mood disappeared as Rias rubbed her stinging arse with a pout.

“Let’s not jump to conclusions,” Harry said dryly, “I need to know more about this rating game before I agree. If I can help, I definitely will.”

[Hm? You were against it a second ago, but when this devil mentioned sex, you changed your mind. Is this what you call pussy-whipped?]

The leech wasn’t wrong. Harry having had sex with Rias was a large part of the reason he was willing to help. He didn’t think that was strange.

“Oh,” Rias felt a little better, though still disappointed that Harry didn’t agree immediately, “What did you want to know?”

Harry wanted to ask about that chess piece a prince of hell created for him, but he supposed he should figure out what a rating game was first.

“Your... sister-in-law,” Harry wasn’t sure if calling Grayfia by her name was allowed, “She mentioned a rating game. What is that? And why would it be something that could decide your marriage?”

Rias blinked in surprise. The rating games were so popular in the supernatural world that almost anyone who bothered to keep up with the times knew of them. Unless Harry was an old monster disguised as a young human, he should be aware of it.

“You’ve never come across it?” Rias asked doubtfully, “Most organizations have access to the broadcast.”

“Er, no?” Harry became aware that he should try and find out more about this world as soon as possible. Unless he wanted to reveal to Rias that she had somehow summoned a man from another reality.

Harry liked Rias and would do his best to protect her, but trust her with a secret that could possibly get him trapped in Lucifer’s version of a mad lab? No, at least not yet.

“If you say so,” Rias clearly didn’t believe Harry but moved past it, “Rating games are a way for devils to compare their strengths. That’s the main use, but as you saw with my situation, it can also be used as a decision-maker for disagreements between devil clans.”

“Huh,” Harry didn’t think the denizens of hell would use gladiator-like games to fight, “And what are the death rates?”

“Death rates?” Rias seemed offended, “I already told you that we devils have changed. The Satans made it so the worst that could happen would be a serious injury. Even then, it will heal after the game ends.”

Harry was starting to believe Rias about devils being... humane, if that word could be used here. Of course, he had to see it for himself before accepting it.

And Harry didn’t miss Rias mentioning Satans, as in the plural of the top boss in hell. He just moved past it to avoid overloading his brain with information.

“Sorry,” Harry apologized when Rias kept pouting at him angrily, “It’ll just take some time for me to get used to this. I mean, I clearly don’t mind devils since I slept with you and Akeno.”

Rias could feel her face burning red as her eyes dropped to the part of Harry’s body that she hoped to feel inside her very soon.

“My eyes are up here, love,” Harry said with amusement. It felt good saying that to a girl for once. Harry still remembered Susan Bones hitting him with that line when her tits acted like magnets for his eyes.

When Rias ignored him and looked like she would start drooling, Harry cleared his throat and continued, “Right. So rating games are apparently safe. Now, what’s with the chess piece I need to use?”

“All the participants in the rating games have to be devils, but my brother bent the rules for me this time. He must have asked Beelzebub-sama to make it to make you eligible even though you’re human.”

Harry noticed that Rias had a mix of fondness and irritation while talking about her brother. It was like looking at Ginny talking about her annoying older brothers. Honestly, at this point, Harry was wondering if devils were basically humans except stunningly attractive.

[I don’t want your life ended by a devil that acted like your friend. Your Rias might be mostly harmless, but I don’t have to tell you to be wary around the older one.]

It might be a little late, but Harry just realized that the pseudo-death could listen to his thoughts.

‘You can hear me?’

[Yes.]

“Brilliant,” Harry muttered out loud.

“I know!” Rias squealed, “Beelzebub-sama is known for his genius! So you’ll help, right?”

Harry wasn’t talking about that, but pseudo-death was another thing that would be kept secret, so he didn’t correct Rias. Harry didn’t see too many issues with offering his help, especially since he could vaguely remember trouncing the man that he would fight while drunk off his arse.

[That thing you have to use won’t hurt you. Fight for your devil. Be a man.]

‘What are you up to?’

[I am convincing you.]

‘Right. Why? You sound like a flea market seller. That’s the opposite of convincing.’

“Harry?” Rias frowned when he still seemed to hesitate about helping.

“Yeah?” Harry was brought out of his internal argument and winced at her wounded look at his continued hesitance. Harry made a sudden decision with pseudo-death trying to egg him on and the relatively harmless nature of this rating game.

“I’ll help. There’s no way I’d let my girl fight this alone,” Harry declared righteously, “So, uh, is this going to be one-on-one combat? Or am I your support?”

Harry had a pretty simple plan of ending the fight with how susceptible that opposing devil seemed to be to transfiguration. If everything went right, this rating game should last for less than a minute.

“No, silly,” Rias giggled, “My peerage will battle Riser’s.”

Harry suddenly had a feeling that he had jumped into another situation without thinking it through.

[You were more fun when fueled by lust. Perhaps you should pull Rias into bed and release your newfound cowardice into her body.]

‘Excuse me for trying to make sure I don’t become a devil’s plaything.’

[I think it is too late for that.]

“What’s this about a peerage?” Harry asked Rias, ignoring pseudo-death’s insult.

Harry swore he saw her eyes sparkle as she smiled widely. Rias pulled him by his hand, exclaiming, “I can’t believe I never introduced them!”

“It looks like my master is still first in your heart,” Akeno said with an exaggerated pout as she hung off Harry’s arm, “The first thing you do after coming back is look for Rias and ignore me.”

Harry liked a busty girl pressed up to him as much as any other guy, but he was getting a little self-conscious with the stares he was getting from the others in the room. And that didn’t include Rias shooting Akeno glares of death while sitting next to him.

“So Rias,” Harry said after clearing his throat, “I’m guessing this is your peerage?”

Other than Akeno, there were four others that Harry hadn’t met before. Two were petite girls that seemed to be on the opposite ends of the emotion spectrum. The small white-haired girl sat there like a doll, indifferent to what was happening around her. While the slightly larger blonde-haired girl was fidgeting in shyness, with her eyes often darting to a boy that was making Harry highly comfortable.

Of the two boys in the room, the one that gave the best impression was the blonde, and all he was doing was acting like someone normal.

“This is my rook, Koneko,” Rias introduced the white-haired girl, who gave Harry the tiniest nod possible before acting like a doll again.

“And that’s Asia, my bishop. She’s a newcomer to the group but fits in nicely.” The blonde-haired girl gave Harry a nervous smile before blushing and looking away.

“Kiba’s my knight,” Rias smiled at the blonde boy before introducing the last unknown person, “And that’s Issei, my pawn.”

“It’s nice to meet you all,” Harry hid the doubt that was growing inside. If peerages were supposed to fight, the group Rias possessed didn’t inspire confidence in Harry.

“How did you do it?” Issei asked fiercely.

“Sorry?” Harry blinked in confusion, wondering when he offended this guy.

“You get to touch buchou’s breasts!” Harry had to lean back into the couch when Issei was suddenly nose-to-nose with him and screamed in his face, “And you got Akeno-san at the same time!”

“Issei!” Rias ordered, “Give Harry some space.”

When she noticed Harry starting to show hostility toward Issei, Rias tried to explain the boy’s actions, “Issei is a little more… unfiltered. His goal is to be a harem king.”

“… So you and Akeno were his goals?” Harry was glaring at Issei at this point, wondering how they could entertain the boy who was literally bawling in front of him while mumbling about breasts.

“Ufufufu,” Akeno covered her mouth, “Issei is our perverted little brother. He never had a chance.”

Harry noticed that everyone seemed to be acting like Issei’s dramatics were normal. He still didn’t like the boy openly talking about his new lovers’ body. Still, since Harry was a newcomer to this group, he forced himself to ignore it. On the bright side, Issei proved that devils were different from humans, even though it wasn’t the way Harry would have thought.

“I’m so JEALOUS!”

“Fantastic,” Harry muttered, “Is he always like this?”

Harry was talking to himself, but Rias gave him a surprisingly harsh glare before saying, “Issei is rough around the edges, but he has his good points. No matter what, he is part of my family.”

[One of those good points must be the power the boy holds inside. It could beat the devil maid easily.]

Harry’s eyes widened in shock as he focused on Issei, who was still bawling. He couldn’t equate this to something like that.

‘Are you sure?’

[Yes. It is quite fascinating. The boy’s soul has a companion like I am to yours.]

“Rias?” Harry asked, trying to figure out what was special with Issei, “Who could help you the most in your rating game?”

“Other than you, it would be Akeno. She has the most practice with her powers.”

Harry hummed in thought, wondering if pseudo-death was wrong or if Issei was some sort of spy that was hiding his strength.

“BOOBS!” Issei wailed in distress, “Teach me how you do it, Harry-sensei!”

[It would be more probable if he wasn’t aware of the power he possessed.]

Harry had to agree with pseudo-death. He seriously doubted Issei had a smidge of subtlety in his bones.

“Right,” Harry ignored Issei and turned to Rias, “So I guess we should prepare. Have some sort of plan before your sister-in-law comes back tomorrow.”

Rias smiled beautifully as she dived into the intricacies of the roles of each piece and the rules of a rating game to give Harry all the knowledge he needed.

While Harry was fascinated by what he was hearing, a stray thought entered his mind. If Grayfia was a sister-in-law to Rias, that meant she was married to Lucifer. But if she was, the question was why Grayfia was dressed in a maid outfit and delivering messages for Lucifer, her husband, like a servant.

Harry wasn’t sure if it was polite to ask Rias about that now, so it was something to probe into later.

“So the boy didn’t take it?”

“Correct, Lucifer-sama,” Grayfia nodded, “Harry-sama has asked for more time.”

“Hmm,” Sirzechs hummed in thought, “So my little sister hasn’t been able to pull him to her side completely.”

Grayfia didn’t flinch at the flare of power when Sirzechs mentioned Rias. It was to be expected with his personality.

“This boy has the privilege to be graced with my adorable sister’s attention, and he didn’t take it?”

“Lucifer-sama,” Grayfia warned blandly, “This office was recently remodeled. Make sure not to destroy it again.”

Sirzechs was able to calm his rage without any incidents a few minutes later. After a moment, he asked, “Did you find out which god blessed the boy?”

“No,” Grayfia denied, “I would recommend that Leviathan-sama take over for me. I suspect that the power Harry-sama holds might exceed Rias-sama's pawn.”

“The Red Dragon Emperor?” Sirzechs gained a grave look at his wife’s claims. “If that’s true, then I need to meet him personally and ensure there’s no threat to Rias.”

“I agree, but there is no harm in waiting for the right time,” Grayfia said, “Harry-sama is infatuated with Rias-sama. Plus, she also made the correct decision to include her queen to tie him further to her.”

“… I’ll do as you say,” Sirzechs said after hesitating for a second, “I’ll talk to Serafall and see if there’s anything she can find about the boy.”

“Very good, Lucifer-sama,” Grayfia nodded.

After a minute of silence, Sirzechs whined, “Grayfia, do you always have to talk to me like that? I mean, we’re all alone! You don’t have to act like my maid right now!”

“I have more paper for you to sign, Lucifer-sama,” Grayfia magically pulled a stack out from nowhere and dropped it on the empty desk.

Sirzechs looked at his wife in betrayal before reluctantly picking up his pen under Grayfia’s close watch.
