Introduction: Devious Delight Games + Silk and the City of Seduction

Silk and the City of Seduction is a porn parody game based around an underappreciated superhero that was bitten by a radioactive spider: Silk! Follow her story as she rises to popularity as a new hero and observe as she endures the dangerous and lustful world around her.

So, first a small introduction is in order. I founded Devious Delight Games as a means to express my rather depraved mind. I love writing and have been learning Ren'py for quite some time before I decided to fully commit to this passion project. While I'm far from a professional developer, I am more of a hobbyist committed to his craft. I, like many who read this, also have developed a strange love-hate relationship with the adult game ecosystem. Everywhere I look, there are dropped projects ripe with potential, greedy developers, games with amazing art but terrible writing, the inverse, among other things. Likewise, I find it hard to find games that appeal to specific fantasies and fetishes that I have. With all of this in my mind, I thought: Why don't I just make my own game? Quite a challenge for someone like myself, as I have no artistic ability to complement the words I can write. So what changed? Well, AI Art popped off. Now... now... don't click off yet... I FULLY understand the crux of AI Art, and I want it to be viewed as a stepping stone for this project; not the destination. Currently, every piece of art in the game is AI generated. I want that out there, front and center for everyone to see. However, my ideal version of the dev cycle of this game would be systematically replacing the existing content with high quality custom art from talented artists, and paying them well to do so.

So why not just pay artists to commission art as so many other games have already done? It boils down to two separate reasons. First: I lack the excess funds to commission art at consistent rate. By my calculations, if all the art was custom made instead of AI generated, it would have taken hundreds to thousands of dollars to produce already. This brings me to my second reason: Time. This game has been created over the span of just a couple of months. If I were to have commissioned artists from the beginning, progress would have been painstakingly slow. I wanted a solid foundation to build a house upon. I am closing in on that, and will begin commissioning artists to begin to "build the house", so to speak. With that said, until this patreon reaches an undecided milestone, the gross majority of the proceeds will be going to commissioning art for the project.

I have a certain list of priorities when it comes to commissioning art. First and foremost, much of the "foundation" I mentioned will need to be cleaned up. While I don't dislike my current character models for Silk and Black Cat, I would love to have fully retailored models for both, as well as any other NPCs. Likewise, I already have an established wardrobe system for Silk, and custom art could really expand on that to include quite naughty costumes, clothing, body writing, piercings, etc.

After the character models are remade, the priority would shift to fleshing out the existing scenes; cleaning them up, adding more variation, movement, detail, etc. Finally, if we ever reached a point that scenes are caught up to the project as it moves forward, I would commission things for the project that might go unnoticed by most: Custom UI, Custom Backgrounds, even Custom Songs, potentially.

However, all of this is of course but a twinkle in my eye of the future. I hope that my project resonates with you all - I have put a great deal of work into it and I am getting really close to sharing the first taste of the game! The Demo is, as of writing, around 70% complete, but I do want to go back over and polish up some initial fumbles and I am committed to only releasing quality content. I realize this is a long post that many won't read; but I felt it important to establish my goals and be as transparent as I can be from the get go. Too many projects are marred by terrible progress updates, lack of communication, as well as other things. It's easy to feel like some projects are scams on patreon - trust me, I've been burned before, and I have every intention of ensuring any patrons generous enough to donate receive an ample voice in the community, properly scheduled updates, and a direct line of communication to voice their concerns. A discord will be established soon, and I plan to post the first sneak peak shortly after this post! I plan to open a FAQ on the Discord server once it is functional that will detail what types of scenes you can expect from my games, as some may be a little too... taboo for patreon. With all of that said, I cannot wait to share my progress with everyone!

Have a devious day!
