Maps for July - Update
Added 2020-07-03 12:08:18 +0000 UTCHello Adventurers! Just a quick message to let you know what I'm planning on creating this month. I'm looking at 3 map ideas, as mentioned on my last release.
The Shipyard - A docks battle map with ship construction as its mean theme. It will contain things like slipways, half constructed ships, stacks of lumber and wooden cranes. Great for any city on the coast or river.
Shine of the Forest Spirit - I imagine it will have a somewhat Studio Ghibli feel, very much inspired by the beautiful shines hidden away in Japan's forests.
The Causeway - This one will be our regular wilderness map, it will be a strip of land connecting an island with the coast (be that sea or lake) and may very well have a road running along it. I'll make sure the variants have a few environmental choices.
Map suggestions are welcome!
I'm really excited about these idea! Thanks to those of you that suggested them. If you have any ideas for future maps drop them into the comments section below and I'll be sure to add them to my map ideas document for possible future use.
As always thanks for your support, have a great weekend and happy adventuring!

A farmhouse/big barn would be handy to have.

2020-07-07 15:41:30 +0000 UTCA few of my alternative versions have shadowfell variants. Its something I try to add when I remember :D I'll certainly be adding more in the future. Thanks for the suggestion Dameon.

2020-07-07 10:19:08 +0000 UTCMy Lich Gauntlet map actually had a mirror room in it :) Its a great idea though, thanks Mark!

2020-07-07 03:03:22 +0000 UTCMy players are headed into the Shadowfell. Would love some Shadowfell maps! I have been using some of the night versions of your maps for wilderness now. For example, the Night/Fey version of the lumbermill map. Maybe city or village streets that are the dark reflection of the material plane as Evernight is described.
2020-07-06 18:43:55 +0000 UTCYes please to underground stuff! :)

2020-07-05 16:53:23 +0000 UTCThat's fair, I'll keep dumping money in your pocket either way :) Though in honesty I try to find a way to use all your maps no matter what. I'll FIND a way to make it work lol
2020-07-04 16:22:50 +0000 UTCProof trailers can make anything look cool :D Thanks for the link, the room looks fun as a concept for a map.

2020-07-04 11:00:25 +0000 UTCI struggled to watch that film, Momoa is a very charismatic guy but the film really missed the mark for me. The tentacle room does look like a great battle encounter though, good suggestion :D

2020-07-04 10:59:10 +0000 UTCI'm definitely looking at some of these suggestions and thinking of some underground dungeons for the near future :)

2020-07-04 10:51:13 +0000 UTCThis is a great way to add in some Scifi themes. It will probably be more Spelljammer than hard scifi, but a variant is definitely possible.

2020-07-04 10:50:18 +0000 UTCAh cool, glad to hear it!
Afternoon Maps
2020-07-04 10:49:16 +0000 UTCI'll try to add more Spelljammer stuff in Matt, I do love a good Spelljammer ship. I really love Scifi and the settings are really cool but I feel most of my Patrons wouldn't be able to find a use for a map which is to heavily Scifi themed. I'll definitely try to add in more 'magic technology' into maps where its appropriate though.

2020-07-04 10:48:38 +0000 UTCHaha, yes Dyoung that does sound like a fun encounter, thanks for the suggestion!

2020-07-04 10:43:46 +0000 UTCThanks Drunemeton, Elven Treehouse could be a really fun map. I like the idea of focusing on one building in a tree rather than a city, of which there are a few maps around.

2020-07-04 02:50:58 +0000 UTCSo I'm watching the really bad b movie from 2011 conan (Jason Momoa plays the lead), but the room where there is a fight with a tentacles beast would be a great map. It's a circular torture chamber with cages on the outside. The floor is a wavy sunburst with water underneath it. It's a really cool setting. If I can find an image on it, I'll put the link here

2020-07-04 02:46:26 +0000 UTCUnderground dungeons would be helpful. Crypts, dwarven holds, etc...
2020-07-04 00:54:59 +0000 UTC(Maybe do the shipyard with classic stuff and then do a SCI FI shipyard?) :)

2020-07-03 22:29:14 +0000 UTCShipyard is SO perfect for my new game. :D

2020-07-03 22:28:41 +0000 UTCStill piping up for something sci-fi esque :D
2020-07-03 21:55:47 +0000 UTCOne suggestion: a river ending in a waterfall. I want to do an encounter with my PC in a boat trying to row fast enough to avoid the waterfall with combatants on either bank of the river

2020-07-03 17:10:18 +0000 UTCElven Treehouse. Go big with an Elven Treecity!

2020-07-03 16:32:47 +0000 UTCAnother awesome idea Oceanic :D I really enjoyed the Kraken's Garden I created last year, so any excuse to draw some more giant coral is good with me.

2020-07-03 16:01:42 +0000 UTCChristopher love the idea, anything with Fey in the description is fun to create. Lots of weirdness and colour.
Afternoon Maps
2020-07-03 15:59:07 +0000 UTCThanks Kevin! These are all great for wilderness maps, I try to do at least one wilderness map a month, so hopefully you get a few useful ones :D
Afternoon Maps
2020-07-03 15:58:09 +0000 UTCA dwarven keep thats partially/completely underwater, with large viewing windows (like in 20000 leagues under the sea) looking out into a massive coral reef.

2020-07-03 15:43:50 +0000 UTCA Fey ballroom or court? Something grand or run down (alternatives) with nature worked into it. I'm thinking (in one version) something like the ballroom that's seen in Johnathan Strange and Mr Norrell.
Christopher Hartland
2020-07-03 14:40:06 +0000 UTCWhat would be super-useful to me would be a few ‘wilderness travel’ maps; my party is currently traversing the Sword Coast and random encounters often happen at camp, either during the day or at night. A campsite along a coastal cliff perhaps, a camp on prairie speckled with giant boulders and a single, sheltering tree, a campsite in a deep glen, with a spring and the trees pressing round... one of the beauties of you maps so farms the hidden, varied tactical options that play out once token have been dropped onto them in roll20. These campsite maps have the opportunity for this as well- thx for all the excellent work on these. My players love them.

2020-07-03 14:11:20 +0000 UTCI really like the idea however trains tend not to exist in most fantasy worlds unfortunately. Maybe I could create a wagon staging post instead? Mmm I'll have to think about it. An ice dungeon is a cool idea as well, thanks Marie!

2020-07-03 13:51:50 +0000 UTCI haven't created a Wizards tower yet :) Thanks for the suggestion

2020-07-03 13:48:29 +0000 UTCThanks David, I like the idea of an ice bridge, maybe that will be something for a future wilderness map.

2020-07-03 13:47:00 +0000 UTCMore Greek style maps are always popular :) Thanks Bri
Afternoon Maps
2020-07-03 13:46:12 +0000 UTCWhat about an abandoned train station? Or some kind of ice-corridor to create a fully snow and ice covered dungeon?
2020-07-03 13:31:38 +0000 UTCAll map ideas are awesome, I have been getting alot of mileage out of the ones that I have picked up recently. As far as suggestions go, One map I'd really like to see would be a Wizard/Necromancers tower like 4 floors, maybe with a Windmill variant. Anyways keep up the amazing art.

2020-07-03 13:14:57 +0000 UTCI really like the Causeway idea, I'd love to see more unique landscapes like that. Islands, Land Bridges, Ice Bridges, etc. That's good stuff.
2020-07-03 13:08:31 +0000 UTCPoseidon’s temple. Or maybe an arena like the Colusseum
Bri Boldon
2020-07-03 13:08:19 +0000 UTCThis is a great idea, another person suggested something similar with I think a Goblin quarter. This could work really well as a fun Urban map, I'll certainly take a look at creating something like this in the future.
Afternoon Maps
2020-07-03 12:41:20 +0000 UTCA suggestion for a map. The monstrous quartier: In an area of the city, humanoid and monstrous races live peacefully together. This quarter is located on the edge of a ravine. On the surface humans live, while goblin, kobols and others have dug their houses in the ravine wall. An intricate set of wooden balustrades connect the surface to the cave into the wall. Overnight, many drinks and move on the balustrades to reach the monstrous inns into the caves where is the real fun. The idea is to have different layers inside the wall, but that are connected only from the outside, and that outside can remind chaotic and poor market quarters. A fight on these wooden balconies on the edge of the ravine would be super interesting https://www.reddit.com/r/Cyberpunk/comments/1nmwjd/just_watched_pacific_rim_still_photo_from_a_great/

2020-07-03 12:34:29 +0000 UTCI do love that film. I tend to collect a bunch of reference for the maps I create, so I'll be sure to search out some relevant screenshots of Nausicaa. Thanks for the suggestion Raimondo!
Afternoon Maps
2020-07-03 12:17:26 +0000 UTCAbout the Studio Ghibli stile map, Nausicaa could be a good reference too. It is always Ghibli flavor, but it has also much more a taste of quests, adventures and wilderness that is good for DnD
