Poll results and map ideas please!
Added 2019-03-03 23:37:05 +0000 UTCMarch is here and I'll be working on more of your ideas for maps, as well as a few of my own. Our current list looks like this (in no order):
- Fire giant's forge (with lava!)
- Fortified bridge
- Desert city streets
- City port
I'd like to work on an urban map this week, so I'm thinking I'll look at the City Port idea. There are quite a few city port maps around, so I'd like to try a different spin on the idea. I'm looking at more of a harbour with break water and harbour walls. A map you can use for a smaller town or a fishing village if needed. While I work on that I want your help coming up with future map ideas!
Submit your map idea!
Please use the comments section below, or private message me. Describe your ideas in one or two sentences and remember these need to be suitable for a 30x30 battle map. Don't get to specific, I like a bit of room to add my own take on these :) And if you like a suggestion by another person, give it a like so I know you think its cool!
Poll results
Thanks for completing the poll, its given me a good idea what in general you are looking for. It turns out that most of you want to see me create some Environment Map packs, so I'll be looking at those in the near future. And I'll also start looking at animating some of my maps as an experiment, and see how that goes!
Thanks for your support and as always happy adventuring!

Ohh and the monster idea is really fun as well :)

2019-03-08 01:04:36 +0000 UTCThanks Donator! I do enjoy creating water effects, my latest map is actually going to be a port/harbour (should be out in a couple of days). So yes, I'll certainly be adding a beach into the list!

2019-03-08 01:01:00 +0000 UTCHey Fox! Good idea. You're right there aren't to many of those. I'm looking at starting to create environment map packs for you all and this is another biome I'll look at creating I think.

2019-03-08 00:58:05 +0000 UTCWhat about a rocky desert environment? I ran a D&D western a while back, and all the desert maps I could find were pale sandy type deserts. Some dry red rocks, mesas and scrub would have been super handy for my ghost cowboys to ride around it. Also, if you feel like something really outlandish, every RPG has a dungeon that's inside a giant monster right? We're talking fleshy corridors, mysterious membranes, pools of suspicious mystery liquid... all that good (disgusting) stuff. It would certainly be a departure from the average map, at least :p

2019-03-08 00:53:13 +0000 UTCSome sort of idyllic (or... less so) beach? A place where perhaps a navy could land in a war, or where explorers might find themselves shipwrecked.
A Giant Crab
2019-03-07 22:47:19 +0000 UTCSo I see. ^^' I've actually used one or two of them in my campaigns, but most of them are awfully vanilla, if you know what I mean.

2019-03-05 13:54:40 +0000 UTCThanks Kari!, some nice ideas here. Brandon also suggested a Laboratory, so that maybe an option.

2019-03-04 13:59:21 +0000 UTCFort/Castles are always useful!

2019-03-04 13:58:01 +0000 UTCKari suggested a few boss room ideas with a Grand Laboratory as one of them, sounds like you are thinking along the same lines.

2019-03-04 13:56:41 +0000 UTCThis one will fit quite well into the current "Fortified bridge idea". If you google Fortified bridge you actually get a lot of Guard towers in the middle of bridges.
Afternoon Maps
2019-03-04 13:41:58 +0000 UTCI like quite a few of these but the one I'm really interested in is the Bath house! Every campaign should have both a beech and a bathhouse episode!

2019-03-04 13:39:37 +0000 UTCive never seen anyone do like a fantasy science lab, with like vats for weird human hybrid people and like surgery tables, might be cool

2019-03-04 13:28:31 +0000 UTCA guard tower in the middle of a river, with a bridge going through it.

2019-03-04 12:32:09 +0000 UTCOn second thought, maybe I should throw around some ideas of specific bosses: - The Grand Laboratory of the Mad Necromancer - The Ritual Chamber of a Demonic Cult - The Throne Room of the Giant King - A Beholder's Lair

2019-03-04 06:26:20 +0000 UTCA large boss chamber with some environmental hazards and/or different levels, so that a flying monster or ranged enemies/characters can exploit the height differences. Basically something to put at the end of a multi-level dungeon.

2019-03-04 02:06:02 +0000 UTC• A zoo - Could be on the grounds of a fancy villa or a city zoo in the park, or even an underground version. But overall, pathways and cages to be filled with whatever beasties we want. • A dam - Probably not a huge one, but maybe a decent sized river/stream with a damn build across it. We've gotten a lot of river maps over the years, but i don't recall ever seeing a damn. • A decently big/steep waterfall with a switchback trail linking the top and bottom of the falls, maybe with some nests or cave entrances along the way. • A big, hollow tree with something inside. • A hollow statue with rooms inside, maybe standing or maybe fallen. • A shipwreck in the desert. • Urban bathhouse with large and small pools and exercise rooms.

2019-03-04 01:48:58 +0000 UTCLove it! Quite an original map, which could be fitted into most urban campaigns with ease.

2019-03-04 01:39:11 +0000 UTCI have an ambassadors birthday celebration coming up. A famed group of bards are coming to perform at an opera hall. Id love to see the theatre stage or even backstage area. Maybe some private viewing booths in the balconies etc too

2019-03-04 01:28:32 +0000 UTCAny idea with the word Octopus in it gets green lit straight away :D
Afternoon Maps
2019-03-04 00:50:40 +0000 UTCI second this idea. A kraken's lair complete with shipwreck/eldritch ritual chamber. Some cool Lovecraftian maps would be neat!

2019-03-04 00:01:13 +0000 UTCYour floating temple peaked my curiosity about water themed maps. An underwater scene would be interesting. Maybe something like a giant octopus's lair or a sunken ship.
