Avina being toxic towards someone in Seven’s life who is not MC is something I didn’t expect. It’s just an all around obsession for them now. And Seven trying to keep their distance in some ways seems to only fuel Avina’s desperate attempts to keep them as close as possible. It’s interesting to see how Avina molds themself into exactly what they think Seven wants and how manipulative they are. They know what’s best for Seven, they just need to bide their time and gently persuade them into thinking the same way Avina does. For me, it feels like Seven’s jumped from a mildly unhealthy relationship into something far worse. Especially if the MC you play is genuinely kind and wants the best for the people in their life. One of my MC’s thinks, even though she loves him, that as long as he’s happy without her in Soft Violence, she’s glad Seven has friends.

Sooner or later Avina will show their actual face to Mc and Seven. Though, I fully believe it goes both ways. Seven doesn’t seem like they’d stand for it if Avina was outwardly rude to Mc. Their relationship (7 and Avina’s) is already fast forwarding to a blow up.

on the other side of things though about Avina, i do say all the aforementioned and yet also think of my own MC with so much pity?? like. obviously this all sucks for Seven and Avina first and foremost, yeah. but also my MC really likes Avina and has no idea Avina is just being strategic bc my MC thinking "Avina and me are getting along! 🥰😊🤩" (esp since my MC is a fan of Soft Violence) as Avina goes "i wish she would just LEAVE already 🙄😒" is a wild miscommunication omfg which some people are saying "Seven and Avina are what MC/Seven were pre-break-up; but Avina is Seven's Seven, not Seven's MC-Take-2" and i both can see it and cant. like. i truly think my MC and Seven has better communication (through proxy of my MC asking questions a lot and being p emotionally mature if nothing else. still unhealthy. but better than Avina and Seven) and generally were on the same page, with the only exceptions being when Seven was too in their own head (eg the first date) or my MC was trying to fake a brave face while quaking in her boots. but at the same time, i can see how people have come to that conclusion depending on their own MC still, im a big Avina fan yet i kind of want a fight between Avina "Wants To Be Seven's Soulmate, Thinks They Are Seven's BFF When They Aren't And Is Convinced My MC And Her Band Are Bad Fucking People" Khanna and Rowan "Knows He Isn't my MC's Platonic Soulmate, But Does Know He And My MC Are Best Friends (In My Head, If Not The Game Too. this comment is a run-through on all my POV thoughts (..mostly Avina ngl lol) --- Sebastian's POV: this one impressed me a lot! i havent felt much inclination towards Seb before, bc i just keep happening to prefer the "guess i dont see Sebastian" option (eg. "My MC tries to avoid drinking, so she'd go see the band playing"; "My MC wouldn't connect 'Maya' to 'MHolland', and also she's obedient to O's advice and would stay at the party"; and so on and so forth all the way to including "My MC wouldn't think to call Sebastian because my MC really only knows Maya and not him, and she wouldn't ask Maya/Sebastian for help after the bar fight") so I didn't get to play this scene in-game. but curiosity struck me and aaaawwwww, i love his dynamic with my MC now, even though they're basically strangers. this was really, really cute. i especially loved my MC being able to go "oh!" and pat for their wallet to pay Sebastian as he tells them "no, no, no, i was joking about the $50, you're fine"; like look at these two social messes being cute, d'aw 💗💕 --- Vic POV: this was so short and sweet! i liked the confirmation of Victoria's feelings of attraction, appeasement, and guilt all swirling around her 🥺 i hope she gets to act in her movie!! i just want her to get to be happy! --- Avina POV: OMFG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS, i love compare-n-contrasting Avina and Seven POVs. and this was especially interesting for me to play through because i wasnt ever aware that Avina's outward personality takes effort and polishing for them (same, babe, but it sounds like mine is more natural than yours? that's rough, buddy. but im glad they are trying to be someone they like and, y'know, WANT to be) i thought Avina's personality was what was naturally inclined to them, not that they had to think through their reactions. and that's fascinating for me, because Avina ans my MC have very similar outward personalities; except the difference is my MC is doing what is naturally inclined to her, she are not thinking through the consequences of how she reacts, she is not trying to direct conversations (she just rolls with the punches, really; the most she'll do is shit like, if Blake asks a rude question, my MC will pretend Blake had asked it nicely. my MC won't try to control what Blake says via diverting possible responses into Acceptable Territory via what she says), though my MC is a private person all in all and has a cautious personality when she is uncomfortable— she is overall transparent and genuine. and she thinks Avina is too. my MC genuinely brightened up when Avina complimented her band, and my MC thinks Avina really does want to talk to Rowan and will very likely inform Rowan "hey, Avina said they'd love to talk music with you!! 🥰" because she thinks People Say What They Mean. which is not always the case. (my favorite example of this is that's why my MC thinks Seven doesn't write Soft Violence songs to be about her. because Seven said they're not about her, and it's be fucked to assume otherwise when Seven SAID "No", so she doesnt get why Corey and her band-mates are insisting Seven is obviously lying. she doesnt think it is like Seven to say what Sev doesn't mean; which is also why she thinks Seven is not at all obsessed with her and does 100% fully hate her, because that's what Seven said. so she tries to be nice and appease Seven out of apology and deeply missing their former relationship). and i have just been assuming (i blame my Autism + ADHD literalism) Avina was cut from the same cloth as my MC, i thought Avina was genuinely clicking with my MC this whole time but was just keeping distance out of resoect/loyalty to Seven. buT NOPE. Avina's inward personality is a lot more strategic as opposed to my MC's inward/outward personality being genuinely almost a singular personality (the only difference in her inward/outward, is inwardly she's a lot more frightened and anxious. and outwardly, only about 60, 70% of those scared feelings are obvious. but otherwise, her inward and outward personality are in 1-for-1 synchronsis) which makes it all the more stark how Seven says they like Avina but Avina "isn't enough" to "replace" MC. and i know that is true for all MCs. but i had to put my phone down after playing Avina's POV and go "....omfg, i think Seven can tell how strategic Avina kinda secretly is?? at least subconsciously?" bc, before, i was going "must be the history; that has my MC on top. sorry Avina. i dont know why otherwise except for history" but now im like "ooooh... in my MC's play-through, my MC is on top because she genuinely is what Avina tries to be. oh god. i wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy, it's so hard to shift one's own inward personality to be their outward one unless you got lucky with what your traits/habits internally came to be what you want to be. oh fuck. that's so messed up" and im one of the fans who likes Avina, to be clear. i think Avina has a lot of self-rules and self-duties imposed on them and their behavior, and i feel sympathetic pity that they see Seven's emotions as their responsibility to handle as if to shirk that "responsibility" would be the dissolvement of their friendship rather than just... that was never Avina's responsibility and Seven doesn't expect Avina to do that. it reminds me a bit of this song called "After Everything I've Done For You (That You Didn't Ask For)" from "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend", albeit Paula is extreme criminal behaviors she did for/"for" Rebecca and Avina's whole deal has predominantly been emotional labour that Seven doesn't think Avina was doing/doesn't have the awareness of how deep it is going it just feels like i am watching a car get parked on the train-tracks, and the whump-lover in me cannot wait for the eventual catharsis i assume will happen aLSO THOUGH, i cant believe Avina doesn't seem to know who Seven is texting either. like. omfg. i know Seven said (in all but these following literal words) that Avina isn't really their "best friend" but just the bandmate they are closest too (yikes), but i guess i had been assuming that was Seven being an unreliable narrator. because, sure, Seven wants to keep Soft Violence at a distance and be co-workers instead of besties, sure, but how can you cuddle with someone SO often AND constantly make emotionally vulnerable music with them and not be best friends with them? my mind can't wrap around that level of compartmentalization; but, also, that was me making assumptions! clearly!! especially if Avina truly doesn't know who Seven is texting like wtf. my ass just got "Show"n Up instead of "Told", and i love it for the story, but rip Avina, fuck. very Spinel from "Steven Universe" before getting abandoned in the garden by Pink Diamond type of energy; or even Laios at Shuro in "Dungeon Meshi" where Shuro was saying (i am paraphrasing btw) "I tried telling you in ways most people would pick up on! Learn to read a room, Laios!"/"How, Shuro?!!" and "I made my first friend on the island, and you expected me not be excited about it?!"; and the dichotomy for Avina feeling like they HAVE to be able to read Seven's mind in order for their band to be stable (my abused-kid heart feels that, the affirmation "I am not a mind-reader; I can only go off of what people tell me" has been cocaine for me in undoing that survival mechanism of trying to read people's emotions through the heaviness of their step or how they put down grocery bags... i get it, Avina, but you gotta un-learn that self-expectation, babe ❤️‍🩹 nobody's a mind-reader). i feel Avina, that's rough, buddy, omfg. i wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy (this is great fiction to get to read though, great drama lol)

After constant replays now I feel like I can appropriately get my thoughts in a row. Vics PoV is very in line with what I think of Victoria. She really was chosen with a purpose. Mid their success model starting to become a rising star so she can fit into the mold of Gs wife, she's recognizable but not famous with a capital F, but right now her work and brand are with G because she is supposed to follow him around. They (mostly Victor) isnt going to let her off easy, hell he'll probably say that the reason she's even getting roles and offers is because of G and the exposure. Point is the PR relationship bites her when they say she's no longer fitting the role of his wife well enough and she needs to do better. So it's nice that she's getting some romance, nice that she's getting appreciation from work/MC because I think she's going to need a lot. Sebastian is so wonderfully normal. It's the glorious trope of famous person and normal father and I do ache for it. Here he is deep in the chips and has to go out and pick up someone (a role he excels at since he packs sandwiches) and then its tunes in a car. Honestly he seemed comfortable because it in a familiar place, his car, picking up/dropping people off. It's his bread and butter, but then tidbits and reminders flicker in. MC isn't just any person, but someone he's traveling to see with his daughter, MC knows people on the radio, MC was at a club that a fight broke out in, MC gets dropped off at a high class hotel and he goes back to a mid tier one. Seeing how it looks for his eyes really hammers home how he can't believe it's happening and soon the fantasy will just be a story of a family vacation later. And then Avina. What can I say that hasn't already been said? I flip flop between wanting to be give them the benefit of the doubt. And even though I don't want to I have to. They are a permanent part of Soft Violence, and Sevens friend. I can't hate them for wanting more. I can get annoyed at how they infantilize Sev. Hiw they showboat their relationship with Sev, and they do it as a reminder to keep Sev at the place by their side, they do it because it's what they believe is best for Sev. Sure, Sev lies, they aren't helping because right now Sev keeps this pretense up that they're done with the old band and MC, but when it comes to actions Sev can't be. Too much history and an unreliable narrator is hurting Avina and maybe that will come to head one day and they'll say what they're actually thinking. Right now it's a mess. And I do still adore reading their perspective because of it. Now just a small rant. "Avina lies, if only to divert the conversation a bit. Of course, he doesn't even notice the deception." Why should Sev notice the deception? They expect Avina to be a friend, not get interrogated? Then when MC gets itno the car, Seriously? They wanted MC to leave the car and hop outside into chaos? MC has so much on their shoulders, and they recognize that, but most of the other cars probaby left at this point? The thought process is, "Oh well, it sucks but it's best for Sev if they go." It's not a very kind thing, and that's where I stand on Avina, I like kind people not nice ones, and Avina is very nice. Honestly it'd be worse if they were kind. They really embody that person that wants to fix other people and it's not their job to do that, it doesn't help people to constantly fix things for them it's learned helplessness and It blows that they want sev in the same position they were in with MC only with themselves. "Seven is like a puzzle Avina wants to put together, a mystery they want to figure out. Every part of Seven is immensely intriguing, especially the broken, messed up parts." I just frankly didn't like then for the last bit, who are they to judge what is messed up and broken on another person? Whew.... that's a lot, but overall it was fantastic reading, rereading, choosing different outcomes and grasping more of this story from other people's perspectives. I love these POVs. The short stories are such a warm hug between life and I think it really lifts this story up. Thank you Amy for all the hard work and dedication to your world, I can't wait for the next thing you write.

Avina is such an interesting character. I really love these POV snippets because they really do give insight into the characters that I never would have guessed of them just reading the demo. During my play of the car scene, I genuinely thought Avina was just being friendly and kind. But now we know it was all calculated and that they didn’t mean it 😭 It seems that friendliness is actually something Avina just uses as a mask, at least when it comes to the MC. Also loved Victoria and Seb’s POV’s. I love what an enigma Victoria is as a character. She’s known as the “eye candy” but she’s actually so unsure of herself. And she’s already way more attached to a romanced MC than she gives off. I cant wait to read more of that route.

Yeah, I'm thinking if the MC was as in love with 7 as 7 was with the MC, the problem in the past was lack of communication (just like with Savina). Instead of talking, they figured they knew each other so well that they didn't have to bother with silly things like discussing possible problems or how they felt past "I love you sooooo much!!". It would explain why the MC was blindsided by 7's anger over the vote--without that, the MC really comes off like an irredeemable moron. You mention Avina's entitlement and what they'll do with it--I share your fear. Avina thinks they can control 7, to an extent, despite holding back their thoughts so as not to anger 7. But the building anger toward the MC--as though the MC is casting some sort of voodoo on 7 to make them not want to let go of the past--should explode at some point. Avina's not the type to get physically violent (unfortunately, because I'd love to see them physically attack the MC, just for the juicy drama of 7 turning on them), but they do seem the type to do whatever it takes to "protect" 7 from the vile MC, and if that means going behind 7's back to destroy the MC, so be it, because it's "for 7's own good". The fact that they're already lying to 7 for no good reason is not a good sign about their character.

Wow Avina is quite manipulative with Seven. Asking them that if they think the band staged that scene and then lying that they were talking about the show, once they got an answer... Damn. I had a feeling that was their intention when i first played the update but i didn't wanna wrong them. I feel bad for Seven. They need an actual real friend and they strongly believe Avina is always kind and genuine (which ik they are when it comes to a lot of other things, but still) And yeah Seven isn't blameless, as they also tend to manipulate Avina at times but idk it feels different i guess? Maybe it's my bias for Seven, even tho i really don't let that color my views and opinions lol It's also funny and a bit sad seeing how off the mark Avina is when it comes to Seven especially when it comes to MC, while they're so convinced they're right. Either way, this is such a messy relationship veering on toxic, that once it explodes it will go real south!! I'm sorry but you cannot keep saying how much you know them, yet in the same breath point out that you never know how they feel, or know anything about their past and family etc because they dont talk to you. Having been on the Avina side of this dynamic once upon a time, reading through this had me so clenched I may have pulled something. You lie to yourself constantly, and don't realise that you're slowly shifting from a framework of acceptance and understanding to one of possession and transaction. Even in our closest relationships, it is a given that there are locked doors. Things about one another that stay opaque. It is not a reflection on your closeness. There are things we hide from people precisely because we love them. And often these are the parts we hide from ourselves. In a healthy relationship you would accept that, understand it. It's when you've turned your relationship into an inadvertent dick-measuring contest that your closeness suddenly becomes currency. You feel like you've "earned" it through the time you've put in. The part where Seven is distracted and Avina thinks they don't "deserve" to be ignored really nailed that sentiment. At the very least, I tell myself I was more self-aware. I blamed myself for the unhealthy attachment, and realised it was my responsibility to extricate myself. May we all be protected from the fate of Avina Khanna, and catch ourselves before we get so lost in the sauce. Amen.

Seb can do no wrong. Ugh, do I love that sweet, awkward man. Seb's POV is such a nice reprieve from the chaos that is the other character's thoughts. In hindsight I wish I read his POV last because going from that into Avinas.... PHEW. I need a Valium and a stiff drink. It was also nice to get a Vic POV. She's so sweet and has so much bullshit tossed at her from all sides. She deserves lots of cuddles and the freedom of choice. Neither her nor G have any say in their own lives If you think about it. It's really sad, that marriage is a hot mess and is suffocating the both of them. Last and surely not least, Avina. Oh Avina...Avina..Avina. Genuinely their POV in this made me nearly sick to my stomach, for them and Seven. Their mind is...a lot. Seven and Avina's internal thought processes are scary and completely unhinged. As someone who has struggled with a myriad of mental illness' for over half my life, I have to say...the mental illness is mental illness(ing). Someone please get these characters to therapy. They're on two completely different wavelengths, their friendship is shallow and co-dependent. They're using each other and so caught up in how they view one another (incorrectly) that they don't even realize it. Which is objectively sad. I can't even imagine where this is going to take the story as far as the mc and Seven getting back together. I really don't think either band will make it out alive after that one tbh.

So I played all three (so much for convincing myself to steer clear of Avina's POV 😔). Victoria is so adorable that I'm almost tempted to play two runs with my G-mancer--one solo and one with the poly. It was short, but very sweet, even on a friend's only route. Seb... I liked his car scene when I played it. I love it even more after seeing his POV. Out of all of these bozo ROs, Seb comes the closest to feeling like what the MC actually needs--someone stable, who may have reasons to hold back but doesn't really want to, and can allow the MC to experience having an actual family, with someone who takes care of them (I get this vibe with Orion, too, but O is going to play the hot/cold game a bit too much to get credit for being good for the MC from the get-go). Avina... yep, I played it. And yep, I hate them even more now. As others have noted, Avina's sense of entitlement with Seven apparently knows no bounds. It's suffocating to read it, and I'm someone who likes yanderes, if they aren't too flipping nuts. The whole vibe of taking on the world together or burning it down for each other is one I like, but that's not what I'm getting from Avina. Instead, this is the bad kind of yandere--Avina seems two steps away from boiling the MC's rabbit or locking Seven in a cage "for their own good" to protect them from the evil MC. And, really, Mx Grabby Hands needs to learn to back the hell off. That said... I get the distinct feeling you're using Avina's POVs to give us more insight into how things were between Seven and MC (my 7-mancer's name has now been changed to Hope, btw, because I want their couple name to be Heven as a fuck you to Avina--sorry, babe, Savina sucks). Anyway, on the surface and from an outsider's POV, Savina looks to be the perfect pair, in tune with each other and so close that you couldn't fit a hair between them. It's not until you see in their head's that you realize that is a load of bull. Are they attached? Hell yeah. Seven can't function without Avina, but at the same time Avina gets on their nerves sometimes with their pushy affection and insufferable know-it-allism. Avina can't function without Seven and seems to vacillate between seeing them as a prized possession, a science project, and the only thing that really matters in life. Personally, I didn't see a problem with Seven in the flashbacks we've seen thus far, mainly because they were in the "honeymoon" phase of the relationship. It's normal to be obsessed with each other in the beginning, and to worry about screwing it up. So I never bought into the unhealthy codependency crap. Even the VD special didn't convince me of anything other than the fact that 7 will be keeping the MC at arm's length so as not to be attached to them and not to get hurt. But if I'm right about Savina being some kind of freaky carnival mirror of Heven (lol), then it starts becoming a bit murkier. I believe you've said that Avina is Seven's Seven, and if Seven behaved like Avina, it had to be exhausting for the MC, no matter how much they loved Seven. The complete lack of personal space granted to Seven by Avina is, to me, the equivalent of someone running their nails down a chalkboard nonstop. In 7's shoes, I'd lose it and would, at some point, snap, "GTF off me for two seconds, yeah??" The intensity of that feeling stems from one thing with Savina: the complete lack of understanding for the other person, which stems from a total lack of communication. That's their biggest problem, and it makes me wonder if 7/MC were in a similar boat. Seven doesn't speak honestly and directly about many things, but they almost seem to expect everyone to know their thoughts. Until they don't want them known, anyway. I'm guessing the MC didn't really communicate that well, either, which perhaps explains why a MC who wanted to stay a duet didn't immediately tell Seven, after the vote, to give it a month or two for things to cool down and then they'd either be a duet again or MC would walk with them. Or maybe the MC expected Seven to know their thoughts, just like 7 expected of the MC, so they figured there was no need to discuss. But I digress... Avina's POV was extremely well-written, despite giving me the ick. it just got me thinking all of the above, in addition to wondering if Avina's overbearing nature may be what makes Seven wake up a bit. That would be much better than the alternative if Savina having a tiny spat and then making up quickly to show just how better-suited Avina is for Seven than MC. Because that would suck!

So Many thoughts on the avina pov. i felt like every single paragraph drastically changed the way i see them... they seem to fundamentally disregard of seven's own thoughts and feelings and put them on a pedestal of martyrdom/perfect victimhood(?) seven is too good, too blinded by faith in others, but avina will make seven see the undeniable truth, the old seven trusted the wrong people and that wont happen with avina, because theyre such a good friend. it's like in avinas mind moving on for seven should, must be a complete and utter abandonment of the past, of the traitorous people who broke them, to move on onto better, more reliable things, like avinas flawless, unconditional companionship. not only that but there's a sense of entitlement and kind of resentment too, they've been such a good friend, confided their everything with seven, put up with their moods, picked up their broken pieces, and yet their position as seven's most important person feels precarious, seven doesnt open up, they won't lay bare every aspect of themself for avina to see, but they deserve that, as the one closest to seven's heart, the one who knows what is best for them. ^i feel like i got hyperbolic at points but its not that i think avina is an undeniably bad person, i think they have a compulsive need to be needed and meeting seven, who they see as being in dire need of protection and healing, brought out the worst in them. they're a mirror for seven and mc's all-consuming relationship, they want so badly to be what mc was for seven, unaware that the maladaptive clinginess the two had is what tore them apart and left them so deeply hurt (or only seven if u play an mc that doesnt give a fuck ig). it's because seven couldn't fathom mc having passions and dreams that didn't center them the way everything revolved around mc for seven that reconciliation was completely off the table after the vote, it doesn't matter if mc voted against making them a background vocalist, voting at all, not quitting on the spot was a betrayal in and of itself, seven made the band to be with mc, was it not the same for them? but seven knows better(ish) now, they won't let themself vulnerable to that kind of hurt again.

Not that I didn't care about Seb, but I did find him a little bit out of place, and I was also weirded out at the idea of MC getting too close to Maia after he asked us to keep our distance. I'm not a parent, but even as an older sibling myself I KNOW I would be riddled with worry in his stead. So I didn't really interact with him much, not when I could choose to spend time with other characters. I hadn't even bothered to go through his own car scene while playing the demo... But now... seeing avina’s point of view in the car ride about seven and mc’s dynamic was so good. it was so insightful to see how avina compares themself to seven’s past while trying to be their future. but even then, the jealousy that they feel because they see seven talking to someone else, being happy with someone else, also makes them annoyed because seven is avina’s anchor but they believe it’s not vice versa. also avina noticing seven’s change of tone when mc is about to leave the car, oh jealousy is twisted feeling that all three of them share. it’s so nice to see the more dark side of avina’s thought process.
