The mewmans were humans, that fell in the magic well or something underneath the taco place, so it's like humans and mewmans coming back together with the 2 dimensions fusing

The whole focus on monster discrimination was too much of a focal point for it to have such a lukewarm "we're too stubborn so let the kids figure it out" resolution. the whole elimination of magic/dimensional merging made me mad the most (as much as a show can make me mad since in the end it's just a show) since long term it's such a bad conclusion with so many implications. Not even mentioning the pointless Thanos-ing of a bunch of characters that are just hand waved (and inconsistent since certain magical creatures are allowed to live how exactly?) Also one part that really annoyed me was Marco getting stabbed with a unicorn horn, framing it like something should've come out of it either then or later. There was supposed to be, I don't necessarily agree with the route of him dying or some dramatic near-death thing, but some consequence would have been preferred over being completely brushed off like a fakeout so why bother keeping it in the final cut. I didn't mind the idea of Mina being the final conflict, I thought the backstory stuff was fine, but the whole thing was rushed and too much in the background until the final stretch (almost like how Gumbald was) to be that invested in, on top of the aforementioned solution to the problem. It's all that plus some character handling that make me kinda lukewarm on the series post Battle for Mewni, like s1 and 2 have hit or miss stuff but season 3 is where stuff gets kinda funky and then 4 really nosedives for me. That's just me though.

2025-11-27 23:30:20 +0000 UTCReasons why people don't like the post-Battle of Mewni stuff: -That long stretch of season 3 where everyone is just waiting around for Eclipsa's trial -The central conflict in the final season comes across as VERY preachy -The "getting rid of magic" thing stops being a good idea if you think about it for 5 seconds (magic was the only thing keeping the legitimately bad monsters like Toffee's gang in check, every magical creature was killed when it happened, ect) -The dimensions being merged seems like a bad conclusion for everyone who isn't Star and Marco -Many rushed plot points or things that just don't anywhere satisfying Overall, it had pacing issues and felt more concerned with complaining about colonization than giving the series a satisfying payoff.

It focused too much on a "will they won't they" relationship between Star and Marco, which, it felt like to me, was a big issue in this last season. I didn't much care for it. 2.) They didn't like Mina being the final antagonist. I don't have an issue with it, but I guess people just thought she wasn't a great final villain. 3.) The thought Moon betraying Eclipsa was out of character, which I personally really disagree with it, I think it fits her character pretty well. 4.) They made a lot of this season about the bigotry that exists in Mewni between Mewmans and Monsters but for some reason made it seem like magic was the really bad guy in all this. They point it out in the show, but they literally gave Toffee what he wanted in the end by destroying all magic. There's likely more that I don't even know about, but these are the common ones people complain about with this season. I personally don't think it's nearly as bad as people say it is, but they make some good points on why they wouldn't like it. I think this is caused by the classic "people waited for a long time for these episodes and were disappointed." This also happened to Steven Universe and a lot of people think that the last season to that show was bad too.
