What’s great about Naruto’s and Sasuke’s growth, to me, is to see how they get closer to become who they want to be or what they want to do, e.g., one becoming the hokage, and the other one getting close to and finding out the truth about his brother. Sakura’s character has been very undefined so far. Giving Sakura a training arc would be no more interesting to me than giving team 10 or other teams a training arc. In fact, I’d much rather watch some of the other teams’ characters’ training arc. It was great to see her return at the beginning of Shippuden because her training to become a medical ninja who could monster punch opened up so many possibilities than just being a girl ninja that chases a boy she liked. But…oh well.

2025-09-11 23:32:22 +0000 UTCSakura is my favourite character, and I love this moment here - it’s impressive what she’s achieved without having any special family techniques. She’s the first person from an ordinary clan to unlock the seal (we only know of Tsunade - a Senju, and her grandma - an Uzumaki). She’s extremely talanted and hardworking, and one of the best representations of how dedication and hard work will get you just as far as someone born with special ability. It’s so unfair that everyone expects her to be the same as Sasuke and Naruto, who literally have genetics on their side.

A lot of fans (cough haters) take her words literal when she mentions catching up to the boys. She means that she can finally fight along side them at her own power, now that shes at full capacity. Seeing Team 7 together always puts a smile on my face though. Lots of ups and downs to get to this point but it was worth the peak!

So instead of being on the sidelines leaving it all to them and being a burden, she can fight at their side. THAT’S what she meant. Sakura is too smart equate herself with those two, because nobody can compete with Naruto at this point. But now she can take care of herself and fight as an equal team member, that’s the point

SP changed it instead so Sasuke’s arm is covering his face so we can’t see his facial expression, and the sub omits his line entirely. Only the dub actually includes it. It’s a shame, because it was a really nice moment to see Sasuke actually proud of Sakura’s achievement
