Don’t worry, as the story progresses the story writing does get better- this is the mangaka’s first manga after all, and while Kei Urana had the style nailed from the start, her writing does start off a little rough but does improve vastly as she learns more especially after the first few arcs

This show has so many good things going for it, but then they plot armored the living hell out of Gris. Like, why do that??? Either kill him or have him be saved, but don't try to have it both ways by tricking the audience into thinking he's dead but then suddenly have him be conscious and talking again. That's such a lazy trope and it will only remove any future concerns we might've felt for other characters when they will inevitably end up in danger. You need to set the tone right at the start by making it very clear that no one's safe in this show. I'm sure some of you think I'm overreacting, but I have very high hopes for this show and so my bar is pretty high. I just want it to succeed and stuff like this will only get in its way.

I was worried for Gris as soon as he and Rudo bonded last episode. Like aw fuck this guy is simply too kind for this world, and he has no powers, all the setup for PAIN is in place.

besides the fact that jabber is about to do some scary shit... i just have to say regto was such a good father figure to rudo. that scene where rudo cried while holding the trash really hit me—at first i was confused, but once i realized he was projecting, i started tearing up too. our mc is pretty well written so far! i’m loving this anime and i'm glad to be experiencing it with you flex

Mankira = Man Killer I never put it together but it makes sense, I love Jaber as an evil character. I went to check out the English VA for Jaber and he went off also and Rudo's English VA called Jaber Shit Biscuit. Remember when Gris send other supporters for reinforcements. What a great episode Flexie!!!
