The more I learn about just how much there is to possibly know, the less believable omniscience seems. That said, anyone employing angels really should know a lot about them, and knowing them individually, should be able to issue individual instructions to get them to do the right thing, even if the angels themselves don't understand what they're really supposed to be doing. Also, if this isn't her filling in a bit role when someone needs to do the job, but rather is her "sentenced", as you put it, to that placement... that suggests to me that the mistakes she made were some time in her past, and probably pretty significant. I mean, OK, I understand that some creatures are very different than others, and if she were, say, a gargoyle, this could've been a really prime placement. But she's an idealized goblin, so, um, it's probably really not ideal for her.

2021-05-01 06:31:03 +0000 UTCI like the idea that the omniscient beings that sentenced her to this duty knew that the goblin party visiting were a possibility, and the humility of getting outsmarted and happiness of having a Lawful Very Good paladin son are part of her punishment/reward, if she can grow as a person. Plus it powers up the goblins a little bit, helping some of the agents doing their part to contain the dimensional evil breach.
