I said before Luck of the fryish is my personal favorite sad episode but THIS is one of if not these saddest they ever produce, i believe that even got an reward for this episode. How they structured this episode familiar to how hey did luck of the fryish. Giving more information and lore into fry's past. and how they build everything up for the final moments of the episodes is a masterpiece. Remember fry told see seymour to wait for him, which he did. and when fry said seymour forgot him a long time a ago you see seymour waiting just like he told him too. and the fact mr panucci was seeming feeding him up until he's death was so heartwarming and then seymour ultimately laying down to close his eyes is just so damn sad. This was the writing that made this show so damn GREAT! This is how you write and struct an episode. Where has my criticisms of leela's homeworld were with how they structure that episode but i still enjoy the writing of the that episode. This episode has both amazing writing and structure. I can't praise how well that they handle this episode enough. just a sad beautifully writing episode

This story is actually based on a real dog! There was a dog in Japan who would wait for his person at the train station every single day. Until one day, the man didn't come back (I think he died). That dog waited there every single day until he passed away too. And he was so famous by that point, they erected a statue in his honor at that train station. Dogs are so special. We really don't deserve them.
