This is one of my all of time favorite episodes, along with another famous sad epsiode which will come later. but this one hit closer to home for me. and I like how they were about to implement yancy into the story and adding more to fry's characters. I love how they would able to tell the story effectively and getting you an amazing emotional twist. especially when you rewatch the episode. The brother feud between fry and Yancy was that typical brother rivalry. Yancy was bad brother but everything we saw yany did was when he was a young. And By the the time he become you realize just how much he had grown as a person. And truly missed and cherished his time with his brother. So much so to name his first born in honor of him. So now when rewatching you know every the son went on to accomplished was in honor fry. a masterful episode easily one of futurama's best.

2025-05-08 18:52:22 +0000 UTCThe writers of Futurama always knock it out of the park with the tearjerkers. Some of the most memorable moments in television, honestly. And yes, they set it up that the parents are straight up crazy. BUT in the episode where it says they stopped looking for him, it was because they didn't trust the government or something like that, not because they didn't care. In this ep, we actually heard his parents talking about missing him and wishing he was there to see his brother get married. They really did care in their own way, and we actually get a chance to see that later in the series, too.
