Mort is a mouse lemur, but the animal Jason was thinking of is called a tarsier. Maurice, according to the Madagascar wiki, is supposed to be an aye-aye (a unique species of lemur with bat-like ears, a fox-like tail, rodent-like incisors, and especially witch-like hands with extra-long thin middle fingers); of course Julien is a ring-tailed lemur, a very recognizable species on Madagascar
