I don’t think that’s true. Because our main characters were never decommissioned. The whole message of KND is that growing up is inevitable. It stinks and there’s nothing you can do about it. But you can still be a kid at heart. But again if that’s how you interpret it I guess that could definitely be true for those who are currently adults who are no longer kids at heart.

2025-01-22 03:40:20 +0000 UTCThat’s not fan made. It’s official. The creator of the show made it to try to get GKND started

2025-01-22 03:34:27 +0000 UTCI have to say this because some people don’t understand it or just miss it. Our main characters were NEVER decommissioned. At the end Numbuh 5 pulls out a KND communicator out of her purse. If she really was just recommissioned she wouldn’t have this with her. She tells Numbuh 1 that they told him (Father) everything he wanted to hear. So that tells us this was a mission. They knew they were talking to Father the whole time. And then she tells Numbuh 1 we’ll see you on the moon base. So they have means of getting to the moon. The whole point/message of KND is that there is something really special about being a kid. Growing up is inevitable. It’s considered a cancer from the KND’s perspective, but it’s still going to happen. But that doesn’t mean you still can’t be a kid at heart. Bottom line: Numbuh’s 1-5 were never decommissioned. They’re still KND operatives. Maurice said “There are a few of us who have been selected to remain Kids Next Door after our 13th birthday. We infiltrate Teen and even Adult facilities for the Kids Next Door Global Command”

2025-01-20 22:02:57 +0000 UTCOne of the greatest series finales ever that farewell scene always made me cry also fun fact about this is that the creator didn't write the 2nd half but wrote the goodbye and in his blog it was stated that it was painful and he cried while writing each of the goodbyes as well getting chills on the last "KIDS NEXT DOOR" 😭

2025-01-20 19:59:12 +0000 UTCIt was fun getting to rewatch the series again with you guys, I haven't seen it fully since I was a kid, KND was one of my favorite cartoons back then and even as an adult now I think it holds up really well! This was honestly a really nice ending to the series, it leaves the door open to a continuation while also having a nice sendoff with Nigel saying goodbye to the team. Not a lot of cartoons, or shows in general honestly, even get a finale since they get cancelled so often, especially nowadays, so I'm glad KND got to be one that did! Here's to hoping Galactic KND gets greenlit someday and we can see your reaction to that, KND forever! :)

2025-01-20 18:40:30 +0000 UTCJust so you know, that Rainbow Monkey website was real, and came out a little before the first teaser was released. There was some stuff you clicked on, changing the screen from the monkey face into high tech screens with word puzzle/password input stuff, just like the alphabet shown in the video. It was such a hype time to be around, you just had to be there to understand, so many people trying to figure out all the websites secrets before a video was actually released.

2025-01-20 17:34:55 +0000 UTCLots and lots of random Cartoon Network creators from that era have been trying to get revivals going. Like you've seen the Courage pilot, but I know the creator of Billy and Mandy has been trying to get a revival going (he's also currently broke to the point of having to auction off a lot of B&M production assets). Fosters is being revived as a preschool show, too... It's a real shame, because Kids Next Door would be great with modern sensibilities. It was always at its best when it was trying to tell a serialized story, but Cartoon Network kept pushing them to make the episodes less interconnected because kids would watch the show out of order (which is why season 4 and 5 don't really have ongoing story arcs like season 2 or 3). I'm fine with the finale we did get, though. They really nailed that farewell scene. This is one of the VERY few 00s cartoon network shows to get a finale that doesn't return to the status quo (Chowder and EE&E are the only other two I can think of). It's just a shame Cartoon Network only aired this special once, so you were out of luck if you missed it. Took almost a decade before it was released again in any official capacity.
