Pretty much what Distrxct said, these episodes were set together because the next episodes are all gonna be gem-relevant episodes (the crewiniverse mentioned that all episodes from SU are canon/plot-relevant, so yeah these human episodes are important episodes whether it’s because of the themes or the plot progression such as Steven discovering his ability to enter people’s mind and/or body)
