I often post little video life updates to keep you in the loop, but I think it makes sense just to type this out. I'll save the dark stuff for the end.
I had mentioned that I took on a new part-time job. The whole experience has been... interesting. The primary reasons I took on this job was 1. inspiration for my script, and 2. money to get ahead. I am very much getting script inspiration, so I've ignored every red flag and let myself be amused by the whole situation.
I was offered a part-time job that turned into 10-hour days with demands to work 5 days a week. It made no sense. This is what held me back this month when all I wanted was to create more content. I'm happy to say, after a lot of pushback, I was able to get a realistic part-time schedule. I was so incredibly happy.

This morning I showed up to work to see caution tape all around the lobby.
Yesterday, my manager was working by herself at my workstation (to fill in for me) when somebody decided to pull out a g*n and unalive themself in front of her. My boss didn't think to tell me about the incident because he wanted me to operate business as usual. I don't think that was the best move. I'm really shook up.
I don't want to say too much because this is still my employer. I like the job itself and the people I interact with. The money is helping me achieve my home-buying goals. But I spent my day crying and now I'm exhausted. I don't know how safe I feel at this location.

Thank you everyone!! I ended up taking a nap and felt a lot better. (It helps that I didn’t witness it. Just my heart broke for my manager.) For now, I’ll stick with the job since the big boss isn’t there much to hover. My manager whom I’ve grown to love that I work directly under at the location will be leaving. It was the final straw for her. If the boss can’t hire an appropriate person to manage over me, I will probably look for another job. I’ll keep everyone in the loop! 💗

2024-02-23 16:23:43 +0000 UTCThey shot themselves in front of her?????? That's so crazy sad and disturbing. I can only imagine how many other wacky things are going on. Most buildings have security too. honestly I wouldn't be able to feel safe and work in that environment and actually be productive. Plus it's a real red flag that couldn't privately tell you what's up. I'd try to look elsewhere, sounds like ur getting abused as a new person. I'd proceed extremely cautious. It honestly doesn't sound worth it at all
