Oh dang, I might have my classifications messed up. I thought Type 2 made sure to roll over the person on their backs as well. Yes, definitely a similar look, but you can tell the Solas is wayyy more advance and feels safer. I liked the mystery cord! It gives me a fun video idea to explore it!! Thank you so much!! It's a great unique addition to my collection for sure!

2023-12-14 04:42:58 +0000 UTCDefinitely not a type 2, that's a SOLAS lifejacket. So bulky? 100% yes. SOLAS are designed to be worn while abandoning a vessel offshore or extended offshore. Bulky, with flotation material at the front so an unconscious person will automatically roll onto their back. They also have reflective tape and a whistle to attract attention. SOLAS lifejackets designed to help people stay afloat in water for long periods of time, while awaiting rescue. I clearly didn't look closely enough to see that cord! I would assume either it goes into the light or is the water activation sensor. Sorry. I'm not 100% - someone else may know 🤷♂️. The only logic for being that long if it is, would be so it can reach the water when you're on your back - the light itself may never immerse in water. The first handle you grabbed (velcro'd on the front) - yes that's the lifting handle. If you were trying to grab someone out of the water from a boat, you want it on the front not the collar. The buddy line is 100% for joining with other otters to make a raft, bevy, family, or lodge of otter depending on your collective noun of choice. Anyway, glad you liked it, glad it didn't strangle you 😬 and look forward to seeing it in water when it's warmer.
