Tentacles just feel like the right thing to draw at the moment. Here are some prelimaries/early versions of some stuff you've already seen, as well as some work in progress things.

These heavy black fill sketches just popped into my brain last night and i had to draw them. I like how they can feel like a graphic print, or maybe like a flash photo, overexposed and stark.
I love when you can imply a shape without showing it by just casting lines off in a direction and picking them up again later. Your brain will complete a lot in the empty space.

The weather's turning cold all at once and while I love the seasons change, it reminds me that winter is on its way. I've been making more time for helping people I care about deal with difficult things in the past couple months and it's both rewarding and tiring. I can't imagine choosing not to, for the sake of preserving my own energy, but the result is nevertheless, as I sit down to work, my mind wanders and reaches for easier problems to solve, hence all these witches.

I've got a complicated relationship with wholesomeness in my work because on the one hand, I think wholesomeness can cheapen the strife and struggle of real life experiences.
On the other hand, eroticism and feelings around sexuality is already a roost to many loud, squawking insecurities, shame and threats, so drawing someone just simply enjoying pleasure in the a safe space, through a rosey lens, feels like a really good thing.
I admire artists who make "serious work" but I often find that when I'm doing my best work, it's just making silly stuff. I've been weirdly thinking about Gary Larson's "The Far Side" comic strip a lot lately. Is this what people normally want to read as text accompanying their smut?🤣 I imagine not, but it's what I've got at the moment.
Back to tentacles, I discovered that putting a little bit of extra twisting, turning and kinks in the tentacles is a nice way of suggesting pressure and squeezing like on this thigh/butt area.

I'm toying with exploring short, simple visual novels as a way of expanding how my work can live in the world and involve the help of other people. I've always lusted after making videogames in particular and the low barrier to entry of a visual novel feels particularly inviting.
I'm thinking of using the garden witches as a kind of thematic vehicle for exploring that format.
If you're an avid visual novel player or have casually enjoyed one before, let me know what you enjoy about them, or what your favorite ones are! SFW/NSFW, I don't really care, I just want to know what you love about them and what makes you enjoy playing them!
Thanks everyone, happy sunday!
