Happy Thursday everyone! We got another two pages today :) Iggy 🐸 has been helping me on updating some early pages with color so I'll be putting all that together in a big batch real soon.

I'm getting more silly with the panel layouts with wiggles and arches. For some reason the arch feels like a particularly decorative art nouveau flourish as opposed to functional, maybe that's just because it draws attention to itself?

I had in my mind that this was something new for me but I vaguely remembered doing it in Ivy & Pine and sure enough...

I remember when I added that at the time it seemed like an extravagant choice, but I guess that feeling wore off pretty quick because the following year, working on Fitting for a Lady I was doing it again.

I really liked how the fluid arches of the dressing screen, the chaise lounge and ladies spines arching in pleasure all related to each other on the page.

When you're in the moment making your art it feels like every choice is the most important and significant and momentous thing you've ever done, but as soon as you move on, you just take those same fixations and fold them into what you do next and they come out in a new form.

I guess this rambling is me making a case to myself for fighting perfectionism because as long as you move on and keep making things, your next execution of your current "best idea ever" is going to be more successful anyways, and still moreso the time after that.
