Edit 08/10/25 - I added some slightly cleaned up, tighter versions of the pages but I'm leaving the originals with the August template!

tl;dr: I irresponsibly made a mini comic to tell the story of the scene right before Garden Witch animation! Also I think the 32 color version of the garden witch animation has really nice PC98 vibe.

I wanted to make a new August template, but also I was drawing the garden witch more, but ALSO I started coloring it, but ALSO I realized it could be a narrative😩

I'll probably do a separate more elaborate process post about this but the more comics I make the more I find it tantalizing to try sorting out what really makes something have impact or not in storytelling.

Sometimes I'll read short stories or watch short animations that have just unfathomable amounts of punch for their relative length, and then I try to make it through a feature film or a 30 hour videogame and I'm bored.

Not even pretending to be an expert in storytelling, all I can say is that I figure out more of what not to do every time I make an attempt, so I think doing little experiments like this, no matter how haphazard, do teach me a lot.
