Still more Pucca getting what she wants and the swordsman happily obliging :3
I’m definitely starting to feel like I need to start figuring out the color for this. I’ve learned to look out for when I’m unconsciously avoiding problems because it’s a procrastination warning sign, it’s usually just that I’m uncomfortable with not knowing how to solve a problem so I avoid thinking about it, but if I let it sit too long it’ll make me start to avoid working altogether.
I like the flat color look I have going in some places because it feels like a comic from the 60’s or like the postage stamps I was talking about in that last Poppy & Oak art post, but I think the emotional impact of some stuff comes across better if I can have some color moments that feel sweaty and atmospheric.
The trick of limited palettes is having colors as few colors as possible that can function in as many different ways as possible in different contexts. Example: the green of the grass could double as the color of a flesh tone in shadow if I make one yellower or redder. My go-to is to always have a flesh shadow color that doubles as the nipple/lip color but it could be fun to have a flesh shadow that’s really cold and funky.

The main issue currently is my dark orange color is a little too dark to function as my accent flesh tone for nipple/blush/lips, so I keep lightening it and I should just commit to the change rather than going halvsies. Blah blah blah, happy Thursday!
