Daisy + Portal Witches + CYOA WIP

If I have one consistent susceptibility it is juggling too many things and not talking enough about them as I'm in the midst of it.

Daisy Stuff

No surprises here, I've been thinking about that one shorts and jacket outfit from MarioKart World which I still haven't gotten to play 🥲 but it's okay because I've been playing puzzle games like Wilmot Works it Out instead.

These will all get some more love and polish before they make it into a Daisies Zine, which I've still got plans for, but in the meantime I've been printing (and misprinting) some new Daisy and Peach double sided postcards for the store.

Witches

I was working on an illustration recently that I can't quite show yet because it's going to hopefully be in a future publication 🥲 Waiting is painful. On the positive side it opened up a pandora's box of portal witches and blended my 1970s Daisy fascination into some original non-fanart work.

When making bigger illustrations I'll often make small little moments and then try to expand them. I was interested in trying to explore a groovy 70's interior space but I kept on running into problems where I would over-crowd the space or come up with a set of figures that wouldn't be a very good focal point.

So I cut them out with the plans of turning them into other pieces like the portal witches I already posted this month. I'd like to give them a little bit more room to flourish, especially some of these pretty polished figures that i just had to take out of the composition because they didn't fit. :\

CYOA WIP

I realized very quickly in working on this month's CYOA update that it's going to be both longer and more involved than previous ones. We keep adding cast members so now I've got 4 figure in this update and one I haven't drawn all that much which means it's time for a good ol fashioned scale reference.

There's something really compelling and intimidating to me about big size difference scenarios. I've always been both fascinated and repulsed by the idea of giant things. And I was thinking about how to keep an erotic scenario with a monster from becoming too...monstrous or intimidating.

This is a part of why I wanted to make the bell being huge but also kind of pathetic, in a way that emphasized how they're in need of comfort in spite of their size. That in a way the smaller characters are the more powerful ones in this scenario despite the fact that they're literally overshadowed by them.

I might be thinking too much about porn again, but I can't help it. My hope is always that caring a lot about making the little moments land with people will help make the unexpected more approachable.

Also for me it's a lot of fun to try to appreciate what people enjoy about their unique kinks and to try to make some art about it in a way that says "I think I understand where you're coming from!"(pun intended) 😘

I was planning on writing some more about how I try to schedule my work time, but I think I'm going to wait until I finish the last of the updates for the month and then talk about it 😅 The best time to talk about how to meet deadlines is after you meet them, not while you're in the thick of it.
